I was wondering why she wasn't in the Freshman....Nicki Minaj and Drake XXL Cover.

I happen to understand that those lists aren't about who is the best 'lyricist' or who is the best underground rapper so yeah, I was surprised she wasn't on there. Looks like it wasn't 'cause she wasn't invited.

I don't make comments on Nicki 'cause I realize she is not 'for me'. So rather than complain over and over about her, I don't speak on her at all in that regard. I do understand that others like her though and she is not ugly so...

Congratulations to Elena Delledonne..Third Team-All American

Now the conference she is playing in boasts a perennial powerhouse team in Old Dominion so for a player to be recognized from there is not too far fetched. Usually though, that player isn't playing for Delaware. So congrats to her for that! She averaged 26.7 ppg (Including a NCAA woman's BB season high 54), 8.8 rbs, shot 41% from 3 and over 2 steals a game. She was also the Colonial Conference Rookie AND Player of the Year.

Not bad for someone who took a year off from the sport eh?

Rapist asks for a reduced sentence and judge lengths his sentence.

Be careful what you ask for. You need to read what he did before you just 'jump' on his side too. You probably won't though. As you were...

A convicted rapist who asked the Indiana Court of Appeals to reduce his sentence instead got it extended by 25 years.

Thirty-five-year-old Jeffrey Akard of Peru had asked the judges to reduce his 93-year sentence to 40 years.

Instead they extended it to 118 years, citing the heinousness of the crime in which Akard held a homeless woman captive, zapped her with a stun gun and repeatedly raped her.

A state Supreme Court ruling last year reserved the power to increase sentences in unusual cases and noted the court had never done so.

Akard's attorney didn't immediately return a phone call seeking comment Wednesday.

In case you wanted to know Big Rapper Pooh's side of the 9th/Phonte issue

2dopeboyz provided this..

By now, most of you know the story behind the latest Little Brother record that was released. A few days ago Phonte released a video explaining his thoughts, now Pooh released a statement doing the same.

“We decided to give that song to people for two reasons. First, the people have been asking for another 9th/Little Brother song since this is the last Little Brother album. We had intended for that song to be an iTunes bonus track but certain circumstances led us to leak it, which leads to the second reason: We got word late Friday from our distribution company that iTunes took the song down following a call from 9th or someone in his camp. I feel that if he didn’t want the song out then he could have easily contacted any one of us (Big Dho, Phonte, or myself) and explained his reasoning and the issue would have been dealt with accordingly. Instead we find out on some “oh yeah, I forgot to tell” type shit while trying to figure out other information. “Star” was recorded in 2005-2006 for use by 9th on his Wonder Years album that has yet to get a release date.

A lot of people have been asking and waiting for my response regarding the twitter outburst over the weekend. I posted a few statements via twitter myself, but, for the most part, I have chosen to remain silent. I have never believed in airing out business on the internet. I have tried to be as diplomatic as possible when answering questions about the situation in an effort to move on. Unfortunately, the same passion that people have had for Little Brother since we came on the scene in support of us is the same passion that fuels a lot of the extra back and forth between parties. You would have never witnessed what you did over the weekend if 9th actually spoke to us instead of speaking to you, the fans, via social network about the situation. Telling people, “You don’t know the REAL story,” and “It ain’t on me, they wanted me out the group,” and other comments of that nature does nothing but agitate the situation. It’s only so much you can take before you finally explode and ask, “Why not talk to me instead of talking to those who have nothing to do with our problems?”

Phonte and myself have always been made to look like the mean, jealous, bitter, former group members in the situation when that is far from the case. 9th has taken the “high road” because at the end of the day, there isn’t too much he can say if we really started throwing out the facts behind his departure from the group. We have issues that can and will only be worked out by us, if at all. Some of your outside input is appreciated but not necessary as we sort through this situation. At the end of the day it doesn’t help, it only adds fuel, regrettably. As always, we appreciate you support and thank you for listening.”

Oh boy. My team is just acting an out and out ass here lately...Steelers

First Ben. I don't need to rehash 'cause you know the story. Now this super genius Santonio Holmes wants to RE-ENTER the fray. (That is a hint that this is not his first time at the rodeo called "I'm an NFL player let me see how much shit I can get into before the season starts..." In no way am I suggesting that people should just be home doing nothing. NO! Have fun. Get your groupies (with CONSENT!) AND ALL OF THAT. This shit here though? No. Just no. Have her put out and be done with it. The time has long passed that the 'money maker' has to go around doing his own bidding. Especially when it comes to dealing with women. Get your girl cousins or something to get her up outta VIP. I mean, I hope the story is wrong as two left shoes. Somehow though, I am thinking that is not going to be the case...

So you get mad at a chick and throw a drink on her? I thought that was a 'girl thing'? I am hoping that part ALONE isn't true. Then the whispers I am hearing about him 'not being arrestable 'cause he is an NFL football player'? Oh REALLY? Tell that to Mike Vick then...Or Chris Henry (R.I.P) and the countless others....Come on Smoove, give me SOMETHING! Tell me you at least didn't throw the drink on the gal...

Now all we need is for Hines the crackback his Limo driver or some shit and we will be cooking with gas...@ all the incidents. Come on fellas. Take that shit out on the field. @ all the displaced anger and aggression.

PITTSBURGH — The Steelers have another off-the-field distraction, courtesy of a high-profile player whose four-year pro career has been checkered with legal problems.

Wide receiver Santonio Holmes is being sued by a woman from Florida for alleged battery, assault and intentional infliction of emotional distress.

According to the lawsuit, filed last week, Anshonoe Mills claims Holmes grabbed her face in an Orlando nightclub called “Rain” and then threw a glass filled with an alcoholic beverage at her face, cutting the woman’s eye in the process.

The lawsuit also claims that Holmes and a police officer at the scene pressured the woman to not file charges.

Mills is seeking more than $15,000 in damages.

The alleged incident was in a VIP section of the nightclub on March 7, two days after a 20-year-old college student from Georgia filed a sexual assault complaint against Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger.

Steelers spokesman Dave Lockett offered the obligatory “no comment” statement regarding the lawsuit filed against Holmes by saying, “We’re gathering information and have no further comment at this time.”

The lawsuit filed against Holmes marks the fourth time he’s made news for off-the-field incidents.

In May 2006, he was arrested in Miami Beach, Fla., on a disorderly-conduct complaint. Charges were later dropped.

In June 2006, Holmes was arrested in Columbus, Ohio, on charges of domestic violence and assault. Those charges were also dropped.

In October 2008, Holmes was arrested in Pittsburgh and charged by police with possession of marijuana. That charge, too, was dropped.

In addition to those charges, right before Super Bowl XLIII in 2009, Holmes admitted that he sold drugs as a teenager when he lived in Belle Glade, Fla.

Holmes, who turned 26 on March 3, was the Steelers’ first-round pick in the 2006 NFL Draft. He was named the Most Valuable Player in Super Bowl XLIII after catching the winning touchdown in a 27-23 win over the Arizona Cardinals.

So the 'Team Nike' dance team is behind the flashmobs in Philly?

Link:

Interesting. I mean, I am sure there was a 'point' as to why they gathered. That is GREAT. I think the 'results' are the issue at hand. Still doesn't 'explain away' the footage that was seen...

More at link up top..

Flash mobs terrifying business owners in Philly are said to have been inspired by "Twitter messages to 'come to South Street.'" That is bullshit: Twitter didn't cause these flash mobs; neither did "social-networking". It was a dance crew.

This past Saturday night, a violent "flash mob" of teenagers summoned by social-networking websites was supposed to randomly materialize and wreack havoc on South Street in Philadelphia. There was no flash mob, besides the one made up of CNN and Fox News crews, and Philadelphia mayor Michael Nutter and his police entourage, who locked down the area in an attempt to head off the blood-crazed teens. Did the massive police presence and network news cameras successfully prevent a repeat of last week's destructive South Street flash mob? We believe there's a much more boring reason: The dance crew Team Nike didn't happen to have a performance scheduled that night.

Philadelphia is currently a city besieged by flash mobs. If you've been following the news out of Philly, it seems like there's some sort of extended Web 2.0 Watts riots going down. "Another Flash Mob Rocks South Street: In the 'Tsunami,' Chants of 'Burn the city!'" blared the Philadelphia Inquirer after a flash mob last Saturday night, March 20th. There have been either three or four large gatherings of—mostly African-American—teens in Philadelphia in the past three months, depending on whose doing the counting. They have turned violent, with some kids smashing up stores and beating up passersby. The March 20th mob was the latest, and it featured some of the worst violence yet. The key aspect of the story, repeated in almost every news account, is that these weren't just normal groups of teens: They were "flash mobs" "organized through social networking Web sites."

Citizens are freaking out: Four days after last Saturday's, the University of Pennsylvania warned students of an impending flash mob near their campus. Police showed up in force; nothing happened. And the spectre of hundreds of rampaging black teens able to assemble with a few mouse clicks has captivated a social media-obsessed press. We covered the flash mob on South Street that actually happened on March 20th with a heavy emphasis on the social-networking angle. The Times led with the social networking angle, too: "Mobs Are Born as Word Grows by Text Message." The Philadelphia Daily News singled out Twitter to blame for the March 20th mob.

Inspired by Twitter messages to "come to South Street," police say hundreds - business owners say thousands - of young teens stampeded down South Street in waves, jumping on top of cars, knocking over pedestrians and fighting and cursing.

But, uh, about those Tweets? Here are the results of a Twitter search for "come to south street" from March 20th-March21st
What's Really Behind Those Philadelphia 'Flash Mobs': A Breakdancing Crew

Jessika521's tweet on March 20th at 2:47PM at her friend Brainbangley was the only "come to south street" tweet before the flash mob. The other results were about the Daily News article, after the flash mob took place. Unless all these teens had protected accounts, or the flash mob was entirely organized before 3PM, there's no way this was a Twitter-mobilized mob. The mob didn't even begin until around 9, so that's highly unlikely. (Hilariously, Jessika521 later posted a tweet about a New York Times journalist asking her on Formspring.me if she had been at the flash mob. Her answer: "What the fuck?" She was probably just shopping.)

In fact a close reading of the news accounts shows that, far from a roaming mob of teens who just all happened to tweet the same thing at the same time, the majority of these "flash mobs" were actually street performances organized by Team Nike, which is, as far as we can tell, a break-dancing crew made up of teens wearing big white Nike T-shirts. Here's what two teens told the court during a hearing about the March 20th "flash mob":

Two teens... also said informal, neighborhood dance groups with a presence on MySpace had been at the heart of the gatherings.

One dance group identified in court, Team Nike, posted a video on YouTube this week showing about a dozen teens on South Street dressed in what appeared to be homemade Team Nike shirts. The teens dance and shout slogans, but are peaceable throughout.

At one point, the message "We got tha whole South Street following us Team Nike" flashes on the screen. The team members are, in fact, shown at the head of a large crowd.

Here's video of Team Nike at the March 20th "flash mob":

What's Really Behind Those Philadelphia 'Flash Mobs': A Breakdancing Crew

And during a hearing for teens arrested in a February 16th "flash mob" that rampaged through The Gallery, a local mall, one teen said:

One 15-year-old Gratz student took the blame for sparking the large gathering at the Gallery. He said he is involved in a dance group called Team Nike and that mall security guards let the teens dance there. On Feb. 16 he said he put a "friend blaster" message on MySpace that the dance group was headed to the Gallery to make a video.

"Anybody who thinks this is a flash mob, it's my fault," the teen said. "This time, it was too many people . . . They ain't flash mobs. They're dance groups."

Another 15-year-old Gratz student also said that informal, neighborhood dance groups are at the heart of the gatherings. He said the groups throw parties and sometimes identify themselves with homemade shirts and hoodies.

(emphasis mine.)

Here's video of the Krush Groove Crew dancing at the Gallery—apparently a popular spot for Philly breakdancers:

What's Really Behind Those Philadelphia 'Flash Mobs': A Breakdancing Crew

Just like that, two out of three (four?) flash mobs are explained. Sorry, CNN, they weren't mobs of angry black teens empowered by Twitter and looking for something to smash: They were breakdancing concerts. Yes, the kids were perhaps "summoned" by social-networking messages from Team Nike members, just like people are "summoned" to any show or concert. And we're guessing these kids summoned their friends, who summoned their own and things reached that snowballing point where they get out of hand. Like, imagine a Justin Bieber concert with no security.

This explanation is a whole lot less scary than the irrational, all-destroying hive mind that many people seem to think is driving these "teenage flash mobs" as they sweep the city via "social-networking". This is probably why media accounts have largely overlooked it. The New York Daily News ominously wrote of the February 16th flash mob: "Police suspect the 100 teens gathered at The Gallery on Market St. after organizing the incident on Facebook or Twitter." No mention was made of the possible Team Nike connection, as if the entire point of the gathering was to cause an "incident." A puzzled psychologist instead could only offer: "social phenomena have to start somewhere." The Philadelphia Inquirer asks: "What's behind 'flash mobs?'" They suggest everything from "boredom" to "urban inequality" to "the dynamics of large groups." Yes, those are certainly all at play! But more immediately, we believe we have found your "incident," your terrifying, unknowable "social phenomena." This is what's behind the Philly flash mobs: Presenting: Team Nike.

What's Really Behind Those Philadelphia 'Flash Mobs': A Breakdancing Crew

Maybe instead of tooling around Philadelphia trying to guess where the next flash mob is going to happen, Philly authorities can instead try to find Team Nike and their breakdancing buddies a safe place to hold their next street show. If not, we can predict where and when the next street show will get out of hand—er, dangerous flash mob will be summoned. According to one Team Nike member's MySpace page, they're planning on "shutting down" 40st on April 10th. See you at the flash mob!

(Chuckles) She made CNN. I am sure she is smiling..E. Badu

It is funny to see the 'news' copy tweets and make 'news' out of it. 'Cause that is EXACTLY what happened here. They took RTs that Erykah put up and made a story out of it. Which is not a 'false' thing. Just funny to me. That is all. Enjoy it though. Take special care to go to the comments. You know there are some gems there....

Link:

Los Angeles, California (CNN) -- Erykah Badu shed her clothes as she walked along a Dallas, Texas, sidewalk until she was nude and then fell near where President Kennedy was assassinated.

The result was a controversial video, released Saturday, for her song "Window Seat," which Badu said was "shot guerrilla style" with no crew and in one take March 17.

Children could be seen nearby as Badu stripped in Dealey Plaza, a popular tourist spot since Kennedy's 1963 assassination.

The singer's management did not immediately respond to request for comment, but Badu responded to the controversy via Twitter.

She tweeted that "there were children there. i prayed they wouldnt b traumatized."

The R&B singer said she was making a statement against "groupthink," which she tweeted was an "unwritten rule" that "i will not express my true opinion if it opposes those i love and fear."

Some fans sent tweets praising Badu's artistic vision.

One fan tweeted to Badu on Sunday: "thank you, because your being brave, i no longer feel afraid to say what i really feel."

The video opens with a November 22, 1963, radio broadcast describing Kennedy's motorcade turning onto Elm Street seconds before fatal shots were fired.

In the video, Badu is behind the wheel of a 1965 Lincoln Continental, parked along Kennedy's route. A single camera focuses on her as she walks toward Elm Street and the book depository where Kennedy's assassin fired his rifle.

Badu tweeted that "i was petrified while shooting this video ... but liberation began to set in. i conquered many fears in that few moments."

She said she was "too busy lookin for cops" to be embarrassed by her nudity. "i been naked all along in my words actions and deeds. thats the real vulnerable place," she tweeted.

The video does not include shouts from people off camera, she said. "they were yelling, 'THIS IS A PUBLIC PLACE : YOU OUGHTA BE ASHAMED : PUT YOUR CLOTHES ON : DAMN GIRL! etc," Badu tweeted.

More than a dozen people stood along the plaza's "grassy knoll" when Badu took off the last piece of clothing.

"the people caught in the shot were trying hard to ignore me," she tweeted.

As she reached the spot where Kennedy was first struck by a bullet, the crackle of a gunshot is heard and Badu's head snaps back and she falls to the ground as if dead.

Badu said when the camera stopped "we ran."

The singer was born in Dallas, where she is raising her three children -- ages 1, 5 and 12

She tweeted to fans about her 5-year-old daughter's response when told of her plans for the video: "she looked at me with a blank face and replied ok mama can i have another pudding?"

The video was released days before the singer's next album, "New Amerykah Part Two: Return of the Ankh," hits record stores. The single "Window Seat" is at No. 28 on Billboard's R&B/hip-hop chart.

Badu will not face indecent exposure charges for shedding her clothes on the Dallas, Texas, sidewalk, a Dallas Police spokeswoman said.

Although children were nearby, no one filed a complaint against Badu after the March 17 incident, Dallas Police Senior Cpl. Janice Crowther said.

"But if we had had a call and would have caught Ms. Badu in the act of walking down the street taking her clothes off, she would have been charge with a Class B misdemeanor," she said.

John doing us dirty. Roy, you SHOULDA OVERLOOKED THE 'YOUNG BOY' STUFF AND offered this kid a ride a LONG TIME AGO. I truly believe he would have came.

I am pretty sure he is going to go. I don't WHO IS GOING TO TAKE HIM as all the teams that are eligible have guards they like now and would have to move SOMEONE but I am sure he will go Top 4. I just wonder that if in the back of his mind somewhere he isn't saying "I want to win a chip in school.' Or "I want to get even better so I can be the HANDS DOWN NUMBER ONE PICK". Oh don't get it twisted, he is not a no brainer number one pick. He has comp on his OWN TEAM for that and just up the road in Columbus, OH (Turner). Now if you go by the tone of this interview you would conclude he won't be back. If he doesn't come back, don't cry for Calipari. He has more talent coming in as the plan was for these dudes to bounce after this season anyway. lol If he stays though, don't act shocked. I think this kid wants to be special as I noticed throughout the year, he got more and more unselfish. Yes, the turnovers were high (a sticking point with me too!) but he was a much more willing passer than he has shown in the past.

Delaware among the first to receive Race To the Top Grant

Along with the state of Tennessee, Delaware has been awarded the grant first. So it APPEARS help will be on the way as far as resources for schools and such. I SINCERELY HOPE that this money is used correctly! Read more at the bottom.

Link

U.S. Secretary of Education Arne Duncan announced today that Delaware and Tennessee have won grants in the first phase of the Race to the Top competition.

"We received many strong proposals from states all across America, but two applications stood out above all others: Delaware and Tennessee," Duncan said in announcing the winners. "Both states have statewide buy-in for comprehensive plans to reform their schools. They have written new laws to support their policies. And they have demonstrated the courage, capacity, and commitment to turn their ideas into practices that can improve outcomes for students."

Delaware will receive approximately $100 million and Tennessee $500 million to implement their comprehensive school reform plans over the next four years. As with any federal grant program, budgets will be finalized after discussions between the grantees and the Department, and the money will be distributed over time as the grantees meet established benchmarks.

The U.S. Department of Education will have about $3.4 billion available for the second phase of the Race to the Top competition.

"We set a very high bar for the first phase," Duncan said. "With $3.4 billion still available, we're providing plenty of opportunity for all other states to develop plans and aggressively pursue reform."

The $4.35 billion Race to the Top Fund is an unprecedented federal investment in reform. The program includes $4 billion for statewide reform grants and $350 million to support states working together to improve the quality of their assessments. The Race to the Top state competition is designed to reward states that are leading the way in comprehensive, coherent, statewide education reform across four key areas:

* Adopting standards and assessments that prepare students to succeed in college and the workplace;
* Building data systems that measure student growth and success, and inform teachers and principals how to improve instruction;
* Recruiting, developing, rewarding, and retaining effective teachers and principals, especially where they are needed most; and
* Turning around their lowest-performing schools.

Forty states and the District of Columbia submitted applications for the first phase of grants. Delaware and Tennessee were selected from among 16 finalists who presented their proposals to panels of peer reviewers earlier this month.

The peer reviewers awarded the highest scores to Delaware and Tennessee. They awarded Delaware and Tennessee high marks for the commitment to reform from key stakeholders, including elected officials, teacher's union leaders, and business leaders. In both states, all school districts committed to implementing Race to the Top reforms. Delaware and Tennessee also have aggressive plans to improve teacher and principal evaluation, use data to inform instructional decisions, and turn around their lowest-performing schools. In addition, both states have put in place strong laws and policies to support their reform efforts.

Applications for Phase 2 of Race to the Top are due on June 1, 2010. To help states as they prepare their proposals and to continue the nationwide dialogue on education reform, the Department of Education has made all Phase 1 applications, peer reviewers' comments, and scores available on its website; videos of states' presentations will be posted next week.

The Department is making one change to the rules for the Phase 2 competition. To fund as many strong applications as possible, the Department of Education is requiring states' budgets to be within the ranges that were suggested in the original notice. Details are available on the Department's Web site and will appear in the Federal Register later this week.

I know most of you don't 'read' the comments section..9th/Phonte my opinion on it.

Since I know most of you don't realize that there is even a comment section here and/or read them, I will take the time to repost my opinion in a post. Why? Did you REALLY JUST ASK ME WHY? As much as I endure ya'lls opinion on things that are 'not your business' like the Tiger shit, the Jesse James thing, or whatever 'scandals' come out? Please. Spare me the 'high road thing' this morning because of 'ties we may all have to the artists involved'. Hasn't stopped you before.

Matter of fact, let me just address this right now for future reference. We have ALL spoken on things that don't have anything to do with 'our lives'/are none of our business. All day long my Twitter feed/Facebook timeline/and message board screens are full of 'half lies'/opinions/factual lies and the whole nine yards in regards to an array of topics/people we don't know personally. It happens offline as well. So don't go getting tender on me now 'cause it is an artist that we both may happen to know or like.

Phonte is human....

Yes! This just in. They are BOTH human so no one is without flaws but that doesn't have shit to do with the price of tea in China right now.

Going in on people we may know personally.....

I have seen you guys go in on people I have known FOR 20 PLUS YEARS SINCE WE WERE YOUNG (Grouchy Greg & Jayson Rodriguez come to mind IMMEDIATELY) and said NOTHING. Why? 'Cause it is your opinion. I happen to know both of them and KNOW THEY KNOW MORE ABOUT MUSIC THAN MOST OF YOU. I don't say shit when you shit on their opinions/get personal with the attacks or none of that bullshit. I operate under the assumption that if we are 'e-cool'/real life cool/whatever, that I have deemed you one of sane body and mind. That you probably have some reasons, unbeknown to me, why you feel how you feel. I may not AGREE BUT I CAN RESPECT IT. Not hard for me to do actually. I can't tell you how you feel about them (or any other situation) and your interactions WITH HIM. Or how you perceive any of the people that I may know. It is a waste of time to them. I appreciate the passion though and can understand it. I just know for me, it would be a waste of time to do so. I will be referencing this post for future reference just so you know..as I won't be saying this too many more damm times.

Back to my opinion though on the whole 9th/Phonte thing. My apologies to those of you who do read the comments/follow me on Twitter and actually already know how I feel about it.

My opinion..

How am I supposed to come back behind that! lol @ Assertive.

Seriously, I just think the BEST thing would be for everyone not to speak on it anymore. Period. Yes, people are gonna ask but no more words. No slick comments about 'It isn't me..." or none of that shit. Like you, I feel like if the truth isn't out there and I don't like what you are saying, I'mma tell the truth. Obviously, in this situation, the truth is deep. Deeper than 9th wants to get into. Cool. QUIT BRINGING THAT SHIT UP THEN. No rap for it. Otherwise, people like us are gonna have some sort of opinion. Like I told my friend on Twitter, he doesn't 'owe' us anything. But that isn't going to stop one from drawing conclusions due to the bitchiness of the behavior he is exhibiting by taking snipes. Which he has done. His whole suggests that. Almost on some 'If you knew the real Phonte' type shit. Spill it then but don't threaten me with a good time, don't tell me and THEN TO BOOT tell me I don't know what I am talking about. I mean, I have had disagreements and the unspoken rule is we just don't speak on it. Too much personal info to be running around all nilly willy with it taking shots. On both sides. I see this the same way.

Now the NOSY side of me wants to know. I can't lie about that but I know that the nosy side IS NOT CORRECT. (See how I did that?) The correct thing to do is for them not to speak on each other ever again. Period. No innuendos. No sneak disses. Nothing but love or nothing at all. Sounds like they have unfinished business though. Which is just that. Their unfinished business. I am just glad that he spoke on it a little bit so he wouldn't be doing the same passive aggressive thing. Right or wrong. He spoke on his side. We all pretty much know there are three sides to every story. Yours. Theirs. The truth. We may not know the truth in this one and it is okay. We will live. It is nice to have some pieces though.

@ Steph. You are correct as usual. Yeah, the Cap in me feels him. lol Might not ever get responded to and that is his right. @ 9th. But to keep 'hinting their is more' and then not saying what that more is...is..well....shady. At least to me at this point. Early on? Cool. Now? Just address it. Not NECESSARILY in public either. Just with Phonte and then having Phonte say "We good.." would be cool to me. We don't even need to know 'what' is going on @ the actual underlying issue. Just that they are good or at least agree to respect each other. Otherwise, the comments from fans and critics alike will continue to flow. It is clear neither one of them want that to happen or it wouldn't be getting addressed.

I don't want them fighting. Personal experiences and feelings aside. Nothing is gained by them bickering at the end of the day. Musically, they will not be working together it seems so we ALL SHOULD BE GETTING OVER IT. I have. I did a long time ago. Had a great run and all still make great music.

I always wanted to ask him but NEVER DID. Not in all my days of speaking to him. Wasn't my place. Still isn't my place. @ Phonte.

I will add to that comment. 'Cause I can. That's why. I also never asked 9th about why they broke up. EVER. I always felt it was unfair to ask either of them in a public timeline about that 'cause if they REALLY WANTED US TO KNOW, they would say. Now since it got DISCUSSED in a public forum by BOTH OF THEM, I spoke on it and what it appeared to be to me. That is it. I got passionate about it because I have my OWN reasons for feeling like I do and they are based on interactions/encounters with each. I don't proclaim to KNOW EITHER ONE OF THEM THOUGH on a personal level like I do the two people I named up top. Lets be clear. I DO have a relationship with one of them though and from what I know, he strikes me as genuine. I have told him when I didn't agree with him TOO! He didn't go getting 'tender' on me.

I don't know the other person but through a couple interactions. That is all I have to go by. If you know him (or Phonte), PERSONALLY GREAT. I am sure he is a great person. I don't hate him or no shit like that. I don't know him to hate him. I just think he is wrong in this case. That is all. Unlike most of you, I won't be calling him names (or outta his name) or no mess like that. That is that 5th grade shit to me. Again, like I said up top though, I have seen you guys do it though but don't get me fucked up with you. I am not YOU. I am me. I like the guy's music and in the end, that is all I need from him. The music. Actually from all three of the parties involved. If they never make music together again, I hold no malice towards them about it. At all. I appreciate what they gave and K.I.M. That's just me though. It was just my take on the situation. They owe me nothing and I owe them nothing at the end of the day. Believe that and that shit works like I-95 my nig. North and South. Both ways. Understand that Jack.

Questions? Good. Lets go....

Beyonce's video channel on Youtube shut down by her record company.

Big deal you say right? You don't fool with the 'Yonce anyway huh? Okay....You might want to look into the reasons WHY it was done and how it will affect YOUR FAVORITE GROUP in the near future. Now if you are on the side of the labels (Which is fine by me so don't come screaming at me. I don't give a shit. Fuck it. You like it I love it.)this is a victory for you I guess. If you like looking (listening) to you music via this medium for lack of cable or some other outlet, this is bad. Keep reading why below...

It’s not really surprising at all: today Beyonce’s official YouTube channel is blocked in the US due to a copyright infringement issue with her own record label, Sony. Below a banner that reads “Congratulations for winning six Grammy Awards” – presumably from Sony, the video for “Single Ladies (Put a Ring On It)” has been replaced by this notice: “This video contains content from Sony Music Entertainment, who has blocked it in your country on copyright grounds.”

It’s a hilarious reminder of the paranoid schizophrenic behavior of the fraught record industry, which wants to make every penny it can on every slice of copyrighted music and video online. (Read how Youtube works closely with these companies to shut down or make money off of copyrighted content, at Wired.)

Via Motherboard:

The story is also a hilarious little side show to the big controversy over the Anti-Counterfeiting Trade Agreement, or ACTA, the international treaty over copyright protection that leaked this week.

If adopted under the current U.S. language, the agreement would for the first time on an international scale hold internet service providers responsible when customers download infringing material, unless those ISPs find another way of preventing "the unauthorized storage or transmission of materials protected by copyright or related rights.” And this constitution-flouting text holds out the holy grail for the film and music industry: the ability to shut down pirates’ and downloaders’ accounts or connections if caught transmitting copyrighted material three times.

Harmless kids gathering huh? Philly flash mobs...

I do understand that if 'more were done' by XYZ that maybe...JUST MAYBE..('Cause that is no damm guarantee either) the kids wouldn't do these things. I distinctly remember us HAVING PLACES TO GO and teens still doing shit. Gathering up and doing things.

I am little sick of the excuses people. That is in a excuse. We have no place to go so we should act like an ass. What kind of backwards ass thinking is that? There ya'll go again condoning behavior. Bet you go the fuck over there to China, where they don't have things to do and you see their kids are well behaved. Well over a billion people there and there is nothing like this going on. Why? Because if they did shit like this, they would be disciplined and that is it. No excuses. None of this enabling. Once again, we are coddling people. Coddled people end up as fucked up people. Sorry. Do I think they should be given felonies? Eh....Not sure about putting 'F's" on young kids backs as first time offenders but those that are two and three time fuck ups? Do what you must. For the first time offenders some type of charge might be necessary though. Again, that is the problem. Someone has to be an example. Sorry 'bout your luck or that you thought your lil friend's knowledge of the situation was 'bond'. @ the kids that get caught up in that. The real World is no joke and sometimes people have to learn that early.

What if it were you kid Mr. Blogger?

If it were my kid, I would discipline him/her and I surely wouldn't be BLAMING a city for him/her not having anything to do. Last I checked, it wasn't their job to ensure entertainment for my child AND I am supposed to have my child in check. Now, that may mean that I might have to break some of the same RULES said City/gov/State has but I already resolved that in my head A LONG FUCKING TIME AGO. I can take that. Will take that. Now once they are grown, if they go out and act a fool, they have to deal with the consequences but I would not be tolerating such behavior. Then again, I am not out trying to relive my youth lost by running out the club and such like some of these absentee parents are doing. What does that have to do with it? Well, if you parent your kid to begin with FROM THE BEGINNING, you can lay a foundation that might help them later on in life (like when they are teenagers). You can't just start parenting them when they are 13-18 and expect GREAT RESULTS....

Kids are going to be kids. I DEFINITELY understand that. However, if there are no rules in place with PUNISHMENTS included, as a parent, you lose leverage. If there are consequences, the parent can legitimately say, "Look, if you go out there and flash mob, they are going to lock your ass up. I may not be able to COME GET YOU OUT. All the more reason for you not to do it besides the fact that destroying property and beating up innocent people is wrong." Because that is what is going on. People are getting hurt. They aren't just down there quietly assembling. They are disrupting shit. They have the right in some way to be there but they also have to responsibility to act follow the rules or the right can be revoked.

Anyhow, here is the video. Obviously, it is not all the kids acting an ass but ONE IS TOO MANY. Sorry. It will be all good until someone YOU KNOW or care about GETS HURT.

The more you learn not to live your life seeking the approval of others that don't matter or care about you, the easier life gets....

I put that as my Facebook status this morning (as some of you who are friends with me there know) but I thought I would elaborate on it a little more. I am probably gonna piss at least one of you off. I don't care. I'mma let you know that right now. There is a 99% chance that neither one of us are doing ANYTHING for each other so if you stop fooling with me behind this little blog post, you should already know what you can do. Yes, it is like that. For real.

Let me first address the cynics, as you guys need to be cut off at the pass. Of course in certain situations, 'approval' is a MUST. On the job. While growing up in some one's household. In certain relationships. I am NOT TALKING ABOUT THOSE THINGS. You know I am not talking about those things too but since the 'truth' always gets questioned, let me just head you off at the pass.

You know DAMM WELL what I am talking about. I am talking about this 'need' that we have to be accepted and the UNHEALTHY habits it causes us to pick up as we go along. Obviously, NO ONE wants to be disliked. I get that. You can't be out there on some 'nut shit' but the lengths I see people go through to be 'accepted' are just plain fucking silly. Cats acting tough for NO REASON. Running to be like those that who like to fight, like to 'slang', or some other criminal activity JUST TO BE DOWN. Idiotic. Acting poorer than they really are so that they can be accepted. Acting richer than they really are, SO THEY CAN BE ACCEPTED. What the hell? Nigga we are 30 SOME (AND OLDER) YEARS OLD! Why are you getting into pissing contests with people who don't give a shit about you??? I am not even talking about just 'strangers' either. I am talking about those people you are 'running with'. Yes, THEM. They don't give a shit about you. You see how they treat your other 'friends' when they aren't around don't you? Well don't you? Run their name in the ground. Tell their business. Mock them. Entice them to do more fucked up shit so that they can MAKE FUN OF THEM SOME MORE. All the while not improving themselves. You never noticed that?

Here you are TRYING TO IMPRESS THEM THOUGH. Sacrificing relationships with the people that actually do give a shit about you for some people that don't have your best interest at heart and never did. Hell, selling YOURSELF short all in the name of acceptance. Soon as you don't have 'XYZ' or you don't 'stroke their ego' THOSE FOLKS DISAPPEAR. I don't have to name names or give examples. I KNOW you have seen it happen. Some of you have had it happen TO YOU. It was just that nobody had the nuts to tell you. I had someone who had the nuts to tell me though. Actually a couple of people. They helped me stop struggling with letting people go, not caring what people thought about 'xyz' decision I made, how I choose to live my live and more importantly who I chose to associate with as I have lived my life. It was hard though due to the overall popular belief that one is measured by how they are 'accepted' by others. That whole thought process is a sham though as we can see. Just look at what happens to people in the public eye the minute someone finds out you are 'human'. Cats drop 'em like a hot potato even though they are just as 'human'. So obviously, being 'accepted' isn't all it is cracked up to be. I am happy just being me thank you. Accept me if you want, diss me if you don't and don't worry if you do the latter 'cause I am not even concerned with what it is you do over there.

I am sure some of you will will say 'Well, it seems like you have pretty much always been like that." Maybe. There were some areas that I needed to improve on and let me tell ya. Shit got SO MUCH EASIER after I made these improvements. I promise it did. I just realized one day who cared and who didn't. I don't miss nary one of those people that didn't. Sure, I SEE 'EM. We speak. Cordial. But I don't miss them. At all. Don't miss the drama that always ensued. Don't miss the bullshit and I damm sure don't miss having to worry about 'looking silly in front of them' over shit that they were failing miserably at too! That last one was big. Instead of helping each other, they would clown each other and try to bring each other down. I didn't want to be a party to that anymore. We weren't doing each other any good by hanging around each other. I didn't particularly care about them (although I like to think my surface 'caring' is more than some people's actual caring but I digress.) and I KNOW THEY DIDN'T CARE ABOUT ME. So why fake it? Fuck that.

Girls, ya'll have 'em too. Don't think this is a 'guy' thing. It isn't. Most of yours are disguised as 'Lets go out and drink/get dudes/be diva partners'.....Another post..another time perhaps. lol I know I gave some things up top that were 'male' related so I just wanted to be clear here.

I am telling YOU..Let that shit go fam. Every last one of those that are passing judgment on you, only like you for the whip you pushing, the gals around you, or that 'star' quality you bring are only there for themselves and they all have shit with them. Hence the reason why they try to shine the light ON YOU and your fortunes AND MISGIVINGS and OFF OF THEMSELVES. Never thought about it like that huh? Now is the time.....

I was moved to write this on this morning so don't shoot the messenger. I just bought the message to you. It was meant for you to see so if I were you, I wouldn't just sit on the information. I would do something about it. No, this isn't the movies so I don't suggest that you go off and start telling people off or anything. Just do what you have to do. Those that are doing these things I spoke about will know why you are doing what you are doing. They won't say much. They can't. They will know the jig is up. You will feel better for it. Trust me. All they are going to do is what they HAVE BEEN DOING. Talk about you to others that don't care about you and not keep your best interest at heart. . As my Mother says, "Well, people talked about Jesus too....so you know that they will talk about you. Pay 'em no mind.."

Again, if it bothers you that I speak 'broadly' about how I feel, you know what you can do...I don't have to feed into the 'ways of the World' and say shit your way. I say it mine. You got the fucking point didn't you? Okay then...

Regardless of which side of the Health Care issue you stand on..Shot fired at Eric Cantor's office..

No one should be subjected to racial slurs (nor having stupid ass politicians co-signing said behavior)nor should bullets be flying. While I will say that it was MIGHTY stupid of the Repubs who 'condoned' the behavior via their 'comments' in the videos, I still don't see this as a good thing. @ bullet in Cantor's office.

I mean, last I checked, guns were readily available so to call people to arms as if only one side had access to any weapon is absurd. Especially over HEALTH CARE REFORM. Where was this call to arms (or action if you want to be cute and say he 'never said THAT') when we were spending money on other shit? Oh that is right, it was YOUR PARTY that was doing the spending.

I am not sure if those loose lipped mofos up there in Washington that rep these states have ever really been 'out in the field' but is real out here. Someone is gonna get hurt. Then what are we gonna do? It could get worse before it gets better is the 'bush league' tactics don't stop. Mess around and get people involved in this that could care EITHER WAY about who is right and who is wrong and just want to see bloodshed. Like whoever did this....

http://voices.washingtonpost.com/virginiapolitics/2010/03/richmond_pd_investigating_cant.html

Richmond police are investigating a shot fired at U.S. Rep. Eric Cantor's downtown office on Main Street early Tuesday when no one was in the building.

A police statement this afternoon said that a preliminary investigation shows that a bullet struck a window, landing on the floor about a foot from the window. The round struck with enough force to break the window but did not penetrate the blinds.

Cantor's office is in a small building several blocks from the heart of downtown, near the historic Jefferson Hotel. It has several small offices in it, of which Cantor's is one. There are no Cantor signs on the doors or windows.

Various Republican candidates have occupied the offices in the historic Reagan Building through the years, including former governor Jim Gilmore.

At a news conference earlier today, Cantor angrily lashed out at Democratic leaders for their handling of reported threats against members of Congress.

"I've received threats since I assumed elected office, not only because of my position but also because I'm Jewish,'' he said. "I've never blamed anyone in this body for that, period. Any suggestion that a leader in this body would incite threats or acts against other members is akin to saying that I would endanger myself, my wife or my children."

Cantor said at the news conference that his office was shot at and he has received threatening e-mails, but it is unclear whether he reported the incidents to police immediately. Calls to Cantor's Capitol Hill office were not immediately returned this afternoon.

Currently there are no suspects in the case, and it is unclear whether the bullet was targeted at the office or simply landed there at random. Police say a single detective is assigned to investigate the incident.

Say it again Diggy- Number sign Jojo must feel like a proud brother, is all I gotta say.

Pretty sick of people telling everyone and their momma how someone else must feel. What niggas need to do is just say 'THAT IS HOW I WOULD FEEL..' 'cause that is what they really mean. Newflash though people, everybody doesn't get in their baby feelings and blame the World like you do.

Looks like March is ending on a high note for Diggy Simmons. The teen rapper—who recently gained a strong buzz for his takes on Drake’s debut single “Over” and the Nas classic “Made You Look”—celebrated his 15th birthday on Sunday, but received the real icing on his cake yesterday when he announced his official signing to Atlantic Records.

Although Diggy says he had also received offers from Def Jam, Jive, Universal, and Epic, he shared with VIBE why he feels confident in his label choice.

“[Atlantic is] really hip to my vision and they work the way [artists] want to work by giving them a lot of creative freedom. And their team is amazing; everybody’s real cool and just as excited as me to get started on my project,” he says. “Honestly, I’m just super duper thankful for the opportunity that Atlantic gave me and every other label. I won’t even say that it was overwhelming. It was just surreal.”

Wondering what the details are of Diggy’s new venture? Ask the adults. “Honestly, I’m not even sure [how many albums I’m contracted to], that’s like what my lawyers and pops handle. I’m just making good music until they say stop and even after that I’ll just keep going [laughs].”

But it’s far too early for Diggy to worry about when his contract is up. Instead, Rev Run’s middle son is already thinking about label-mate collabos. “Lupe is my favorite hip-hop artist, so sharing a label is something to be excited about. I think Lykke Li would be a dope collaboration as well because I’ve always been a fan of hers and Trey Songz or Estelle would be really dope as well.”

As for the crass Twitter trending topic #JojoMustFeelLike that showed face the same day as Diggy’s signing, the young rapper stood unamused.

“Number sign Jojo must feel like a proud brother, is all I gotta say. Everything everybody was saying [about him being jealous]… he didn’t even feel that way. The jokes on them, cause they’re stupid. People always like to put a negative play on a positive thing. But he was super excited for me.”

Now for all you 'perfect' niggas out there we 'know you wouldn't be having all of that'/he's a (insert the little cool name you have for the less perfect people of the World here)/and all that other fantasy land shit ya'll like to shoot up people's asses. Lou Pritchett- President Obama, you scare me....Open Letter to President Obama

Lou, you are scaring me if you have done everything that is on your resume' and can't find out some of the simple ass 'things" you claim you don't know about President Obama. Your ideals don't really scare me though. Your line of thinking is neither shocking or 'thought provoking' to me. No matter how much money you have made with Walmart. (Yes, I know who you are. I just don't give a fuck.)

AN OPEN LETTER TO PRESIDENT OBAMA FROM LOU PRITCHETT

Dear President Obama:

You are the thirteenth President under whom I have lived and unlike any of the others, you truly scare me.

You scare me because after months of exposure, I know nothing about you.

You scare me because I do not know how you paid for your expensive Ivy League education and your upscale lifestyle and housing with no visible signs of support.

You scare me because you did not spend the formative years of youth growing up in America and culturally you are not an American.

You scare me because you have never run a company or met a payroll.

You scare me because you have never had military experience, thus don't understand it at its core.

You scare me because you lack humility and 'class', always blaming others.

You scare me because for over half your life you have aligned yourself with radical extremists who hate and you refuse to publicly denounce these radicals who wish to see America fail.

You scare me because you are a cheerleader for the 'blame' crowd and deliver this message abroad.

You scare me because you want to change to a European style country where the government sector dominates instead of the private sector.

You scare me because you want to replace our health care system with a government controlled one.

You scare me because you prefer 'wind mills' to responsibly capitalizing on our own vast oil, coal and shale reserves.

You scare me because you want to kill the American capitalist goose that lays the golden egg which provides the highest standard of living in the world.

You scare me because you have begun to use 'extortion' tactics against certain banks and corporations.

You scare me because your own political party shrinks from challenging you on your wild and irresponsible spending proposals.

You scare me because you will not openly listen to or even consider opposing points of view from intelligent people.

You scare me because you falsely believe that you are both omnipotent and omniscient.

You scare me because the media gives you a free pass on everything you do.

You scare me because you demonize and want to silence the Limbaughs, Hannitys, O'Relllys and Becks who offer opposing, conservative points of view.

You scare me because you prefer controlling over governing.

Finally, you scare me because if you serve a second term I will probably not feel safe in writing a similar letter in 8 years.

If something happened, she needs to go in for the interview again.

Now I know that there will be some to cite how mentally draining these interviews can be, how scared she might be, and a whole plethora of reasons as to why she would choose not to go in for this interview with the police. That is fine. But you KNOW in your heart of hearts that this looks just as shady as it did when she claimed he assaulted her. Only now the shade is on her side. So in the interest fairness, I am going to need you guys to be just as vocal about her not doing her interview.

If he has an issue, like some of you are implying, the money for any 'settlement' would still be there after the guilty conviction so I don't really buy the whole 'He is buying her out but he is still guilty' theory you guys are about to throw out there. Matter of fact, getting a guilty plea probably would net her MORE MONEY. That leads me to believe something is amiss here. So the only conclusion I can come to is this.

What was said to have happened didn't happen but this is the best it is going to get for her. Money wise. (He DOES need this to go away as it is his second time being accused. Doesn't mean he did it though.) Not getting indicted wise ('cause if she filed a false police report some charges could be filed). You see, they aren't asking for his DNA anymore. Unlike what the idiot on ESPN failed to say, THIS LATEST issue could be why. She isn't talking to the cops. Hmmmmm...Wonder why that could be???? He is still gonna meet with GODdell though.

Time will tell what really happened.

The case against Steelers' quarterback Ben Roethlisberger may be falling apart with no charges filed.

First there was the news that the Milledgeville, Ga., police are no longer requesting Roethlisberger's DNA, now Pittsburgh TV station KDKA is reporting that the 20-year-old woman who had accused Roethlisberger of sexual assault has not appeared for a follow-up interview with the police. The woman's attorney would not comment as to whether she's been willing to meet with the police.

KDKA reported that a source involved with the investigation said that the investigation has "hit a brick wall."

The police's decision to rescind a request for Roethlisberger's DNA can be interpreted in multiple ways, but it is pretty clear that if the alleged victim won't cooperate with the police the potential case against Roethlisberger will likely fall apart. Of course, she could reschedule her follow-up interview with the police at any time, but if she doesn't, experts told KDKA that the case will likely fall apart.

"Bottom line is no cooperative victim under these circumstances, probably no crime," Pittsburgh defense attorney Robert Del Greco told KDKA.

Roethlisberger is still supposed to meet with NFL commissioner Roger Goodell, but if no charges end up being filed in this case then Roethlisberger would likely avoid any kind of NFL sanctioned punishment.

About the video footage..

http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/news/story?id=5026596&campaign=rss&source=twitter&ex_cid=Twitter_espn_5026596

The attorney representing the Georgia nightclub where Ben Roethlisberger is accused of sexually assaulting a college student said the club cannot salvage recorded video footage of the night the alleged incident took place.

The Capital City nightclub's system recorded over footage from March 5, attorney Carl Cansino told the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review for Thursday's editions. The Georgia Bureau of Investigation was unable to retrieve the footage as potential evidence, he said.

"The DVD system overwrote itself," Cansino told the Tribune-Review. "Had it just been deleted, they might have been able to save some of it."

A source familiar with the investigation told ESPN's Kelly Naqi that there was no camera inside the Milledgeville nightclub that was pointed toward the bathroom where the 20-year-old woman claims the Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback "sexually assaulted or sexually manipulated" her -- many of the club's security cameras are focused on the main dance floor area. The value of any footage obtained from those recordings would be to see the demeanor of the accuser and her friends as they made their exit from the club, the source told Naqi.

The source also maintains club manager Rocky Duncan viewed the footage from the output of those cameras from the night in question before the GBI requested the footage from him, but said it was hard for Duncan to determine much from the footage because there were a couple of hundred people in the club and the footage is in black and white.

Duncan did not return a call from ESPN for comment.

The source added that the GBI initially had trouble getting the footage from the club's DVR but ultimately was successful in doing so. A call to GBI Public Information Officer John Bankhead was not immediately returned.

A member of Roethlisberger's entourage shot his own video inside the club, where Roethlisberger had gone to celebrate his birthday. According to Cansino, the video shows the accuser with the 28-year-old Roethlisberger, but the attorney described the footage as your standard home video.

Among the people who arrived at the club with Roethlisberger on March 5 were teammate Willie Colon, a Coraopolis, Pa., police officer and a Pennsylvania state trooper. Roethlisberger has a home about 30 miles from the nightclub.

The investigation is entering its third week. Roethlisberger has not been charged and his lawyer, Ed Garland, said this week that he hoped the investigation would wrap up within a month. Garland said he believes Roethlisberger will not be charged.

On Wednesday, the GBI withdrew its request for a DNA sample from Roethlisberger.

The Steelers start offseason practices and training sessions for regulars beginning Monday, and coach Mike Tomlin said he expects Roethlisberger to attend.
