This is still going on btw... HTC patent case could mean trouble for Apple's new iPhone :

Interesting read...I know a lot of you will gloss over it (whether you are fanboy of Apple or Droid) so I will point out the main fact..

Patent Purchase
In this case, though, HTC acquired the patents at issue in April 2011, around the same time it began selling its first LTE phone, the Thunderbolt. The patents are part of a portfolio HTC bought for $75 million from ADC Telecommunications Inc.
“I don’t care if they bought these patents to sue you or not,” Pender told McKeon. “They are a property right.”
In a court filing, HTC said it bought the patents, which ADC said were being infringed by Apple, “to protect itself and its customers from these aggressive tactics and to preserve its ability to compete in the United States.”
The testimony, much of which wasn’t open to the public, focused on whether HTC is using the technology, a requirement to win the case under trade law.
“LTE products were particularly important to our strategy in 2011,” when the complaint was filed, said Martin Fichter, HTC America’s vice president of product and operations. “We’re a pioneer in that field.”

That is the main gist of the story... Here is the ENTIRE story...

Apple Inc. (Nasdaq: AAPL) may face a difficult task invalidating two HTC Corp. patents for data transmission in wireless devices, a U.S. trade judge said at a trial that could lead to import bans on the newest iPad and next version of the iPhone.
“Clear and convincing means something to me,” U.S. International Trade Commission Judge Thomas Pender said last week in Washington, referring to the legal standard in determining that a patent shouldn’t have been issued. “I have to be pretty darn certain a U.S. patent is invalid.”
HTC accuses Apple of infringing two patents it owns for ways to reliably transmit a larger amount of data. Taoyuan, Taiwan-based HTC said the patented methods are critical to the 4G technology known as LTE, or long-term evolution, that allow faster downloads.
A victory could let HTC seek an import ban of the latest iPad and even the newest iPhone, if it uses LTE when it’s unveiled as early as this week. An announcement from Apple is expected Tuesday.
The pending releases could give the Taiwanese handset maker leverage to force a settlement with Apple, which has made its own patent-infringement claims against HTC.
The global smartphone market grew 62 percent last year to $219.1 billion, according to Bloomberg Industries, and consumers are demanding ever-faster downloads of movies, music and websites on what has become more a handheld computer than a simple phone. Carriers such as AT&T Inc. are converting to faster LTE technology, and network-equipment maker Cisco Systems Inc. projects that worldwide mobile-data traffic will soar 18-fold by 2016.
[HTC recently closed an R&D office in Durham, N.C., which employed some 50 people.]
LTE Advantage
HTC, which started as a contract manufacturer and now makes devices under its own brand, has fought to increase its market share after losing customers to Apple and Samsung Electronics Co. Adding LTE capabilities to go up against Samsung’s 4G phones is one way the company hopes to differentiate itself from other phones that run on Android, the most popular platform for mobile phones and the chief rival to Apple’s iPhone.
The newest iPad, which went on sale in the U.S. in March, is the first from Apple that runs on LTE wireless networks. Apple is expected to introduce its newest iPhone on Sept. 12, and HTC can argue that it should be subject to an import ban because it was in production during the pre-trial investigative portion of the patent case.
When Pender asked whether Apple would be announcing its newest iPhone next week, Apple lawyer Michael McKeon of Fish & Richardson in Washington said he wasn’t told of the company’s plans.
“It will be thinner and the screen bigger?” the judge asked. McKeon would only say, “That’s what the blogs are saying.”
Patent Battles
Apple and HTC have been embroiled in patent battles over features in smartphones since March 2010, when Cupertino, California-based Apple filed its first infringement claim at the trade agency. The case at trial yesterday, and an earlier case HTC lost at the commission, “were filed in retaliation against Apple,” McKeon said.
Apple contends phones by HTC and other competitors that run on Google Inc.’s Android operating system copy features that make the iPhone unique. The March 2010 complaint against HTC has spread to a global war involving Apple and Android-handset manufacturers that is being contested in courts on four continents.
HTC lawyer Tom Jarvis of Finnegan Henderson said the company was the first to sell Android and 4G devices and one of the first with touch screens.
“HTC is an innovator,” Jarvis told the judge. “It’s no Johnny-come-lately.”
Altered Allegations
HTC has altered its allegations in the case, McKeon said. It initially claimed the patents covered Wi-Fi technology and now says they cover 4G, he said. McKeon argued that the patents, which relate to work that began in the 1990s, don’t cover mobile technology at all.
The case on trial, filed in August 2011, initially included five patents that HTC obtained from Mountain View, California-based Google. Pender threw out that part of the case, saying HTC didn’t have adequate ownership control under the terms of its agreement with Google. The commission in July upheld that decision.
Pender said yesterday he probably won’t side with Apple’s argument that HTC didn’t have proper ownership rights of the two former ADC patents.
The case is In the Matter of Certain Electronic Devices with Communication Capabilities, 337-808, U.S. International Trade Commission (Washington).

Sprint Galaxy Nexus Jelly Bean update confirmed, not hitting devices just yet Though | AndroidSPIN

I will be honest, I am still getting used to the new features on Ice Cream Sandwich....as I switched from a GingerBread based phone..So while I am EXCITED to get something new for my phone, I'm not too pressed about it. So if the Verizon approval doesn't come today, I will be okay. Here are the details..

(Words) Passwords on phones/emails/computers X Your 'significant other and The Ugly Truth of why you want them..

If you have NEVER read one of my lil diatribes, let me warn you. I don't 'do fairy tale' endings. A lot of the shit I am going to say, even some of you my age haven't even 'seen' yet. They are lunar eclipses to some of you. You've seen pictures. You've heard stories. You just never seen the shit. It is okay. Hopefully, SOME OF IT YOU NEVER WILL. I really mean that. I want y'all living as good of a Life as you can. Just know, shit ain't sweet for everyone.

This is one of those topics that is ALWAYS up for discussion on the social networksphere. I see at least five to six tweets/Facebook statues/etc per hour on it and mostly they all say the same thing.

DON'T TRUST ANYONE WHO HAS A CODE/PASSWORD/ETC on their phone, email, whatever that you don't have yourself if you are involved with them.

This sounds SO GOOD IN THEORY. No access. Must be hiding something. The end. Right?

SO this is the end of the result right? Post is over and we can go on about our merry way right? Yeah...you know better don't you? (Chuckles) It is not. Not by a long shot Jack.

Let me tell you self righteous mofos something.... First though...

Let me go on ahead and get the OBVIOUS OUT OF THE WAY. Yes, in CERTAIN CASES, there are those that use these codes/passwords/whatever to hide WHATEVER ILLICIT ACTIVITIES THEY ARE PARTAKING IN. I'm not an idiot. I know that. The problem is with the assumption that ALL FOLKS WHO DO THIS ARE DOING SO TO COVER UP THEIR ACTIVITY. That's one problem. All are not. Some folks have their phone around OTHER FOLKS they don't trust not named you THAT THEY DON'T WANT IN THEIR BUSINESS. Some folks actually...wait for it...go PLACES AND HAVE LOST THEIR PHONES..and thus pertinent information because they didn't have their shit LOCKED UP. So maybe...JUST MAYBE..they are in the habit of locking their phone for THOSE REASONS. I know..that does NOT make you feel better about it...And I know why....SOME OF YOU are carrying some baggage with you...

So my first question when someone BLURTS THAT INDIGNANT PHRASE OUT IS:

Why do you need a password to a phone/computer/etc that is not yours?

I don't trust him/her? - The answer that most folks pussy foot around and FINALLY RELENT TO or just flat out don't admit.

I could probably end the post here huh? I mean you don't 'trust' them then you should leave right? Yeah..I could. It wouldn't be fair to me though. I won't be as absolute with it as those of you who champion the 'code access' thing are being about that. I'm not built like that. I know there are tons of reasons why folks can't just 'leave' that all of you 'perfect' people will frown upon. Another post...another time for that. For now though, lets deal with the fact you want in your significant others device for several reasons and lack of trust is one of them.

Yeah you can 'argue' that their actions have 'gotten you to this point' but the truth of the matter is you choose to stay and deal with them. So since you choose to stay....you have some fault in this too. Deny it all you want. It is okay. It doesn't change it though...lol I know...I know..they are 'making you look through their stuff..' Stop. They aren't making you do shit. You are battling with yourself on that one dawg and it is okay. You aren't alone. Folks succumb to that battle all of the time.

Reason #1

All the bullshit you have/had on your device/in your email/etc  aka YOUR OWN DIRT.

The emails from that nigga you know you had no interest long term in but who gave you that ego stroke. Told you were pretty. Bought you lunch and shit... met you at the park a couple of times and..it wasn't like you wanted to keep him.. . You remember him right?

The girl you strung along who you KNEW liked you but you wanted them Cool Greys and the money was tight at home? Plus the head was right and ....ain't like you kissed her..Yeah her...

Wonder what your 'SO' would think about that?

Oh you deleted it so you are good huh? They have somebody now (or did then) so they will never tell huh?

Naw B. That shit happened. It isn't all good 'cause NOW YOU WANT IN ON HIS EMAIL TO SEE WHAT THE FUCK HE HAS BEEN UP TO. You can't trust him/her for shit 'cause you see how 'blissful'*  he/she are while you know THE SHIT YOU'VE DONE.

You actually went to that park with your man two weeks later or came home to a box of those 'Cool Greys' from him/her. So your ego has you on that 'It won't be me out this bitch'...and you start to snooping so you don't get caught out there. HOPING YOU FIND something. Wishing you could find something so you can feel justified in the bullshit you have already partaken in. Where do you think that 'That's why while you were out getting your dick sucked, I was fucking your best friend' shit comes from? Yeah... Don't act innocent now..lol

Sidenote:

Some of you also quickly come to the realization that all the 'harmless' flirting, texting and shit you do on your phones/computers/etc JUST MIGHT BE HAPPENING on the other side so you get a little curious. So off you go, wanting to snoop. Shame on you for that shit. Like you are the only one out here who gets to 'have fun but know your limits'. FOH. Party pooping ass cats.. Or maybe you don't know your limits and you are afraid that....nevermind..

Reason #2

Some of you are just paranoid as fuck. Point blank. You've seen too many fucking movies or your friends who pick bullshit mates get fucked over so you automatically assume it is gonna happen. Some of you are snooping AND THE PERSON HASN'T DONE SHIT. Yet here you are...Snooping. Trying to find something. Anything. Shameful.

I'm all for realistic approaches by the way but if you are gonna be 'realistic', take that shit the FULL MILE. @ saying you snoop because you know people 'cheat' and 'get weak'.

You aren't going anywhere if you 'expect' him/her' to do whatever it is you think you are gonna find on that phone/computer/email so what exactly the fuck are you looking for? Oh 'so you can know'? Come off that shit. If you THINK YOU NEED TO LOOK THEN THE LEAST OF YOUR WORRIES ARE THE CONTENTS OF HIS/HERPASSWORD LOCKED iPhone.

Reason # 3

It isn't him/her that I don't trust, it is everyone else.

Stop. The. Bullshit. First of all, why are you with someone who you think can't 'decipher' signals from the opposite (or same if that is y'alls flavor) sex? Really? You expect me to believe that shit? I almost don't want to come out and say what I am about to but if THAT IS YOUR DEFENSE, it is my duty.

He/she actually functions just fine without you and if THEY DO NOT, then it might be time for either them to start doing so or for you to find someone else. Straight like that. You don't have to 'monitor' their conversations like they are five and if you FEEL LIKE YOU DO, you are just as much to blame for not 'helping' them with their 'issues'. Whatever you deem them to be.

Second of all..go back up top. If that was you up there with the 'dirt' then you don't get to use this one without getting called on your bullshit. Even if it was you in your 'previous' relationship. You should have gotten over ALL OF YOUR ISSUES before now and if you aren't, that is for YOU TO WORK OUT.

What kinda shit is that? @ monitoring conversations. FOH. Out of curiosity though, I wonder if he/she would feel the need to 'monitor' the conversation you have with the 'lunch person' who makes sure you get 'the special', even when they are all out? Or the person at the grocery store who 'makes sure your every whim' is taken care of that you smile sweetly at and play nice with? Or your work 'wife'/'husband'. You know, the one you 'told him/her' about on that 'in plain sight' bullshit? Yeah him/her? Again.... Miss me all the way with the bullshit...

I guess my issue with folks being so demanding about all this 'access' are the ones who do shit I KNOW for a fact their SO wouldn't approve of if they got wind of it.... That and the fact that it isn't 'yours'. If it is 'ours', that is different. We aren't talking about that though. We are talking about things that are individual possessions. That is what makes it MINE. The fact that I control it. I know a lot of you don't like that ideal though.

Let me ask some of you folks who 'feel the need to have passwords and shit' something. These are things I don't see you doing.

Why not suggest sharing a Twitter? As in, you both have the same account SOLELY. Not one for both of you and then you have your own. Just one account. Think Bennifer..TomKat.....shit like that.

Sharing a phone NUMBER? Not a phone plan..THE SAME FUCKING NUMBER..Everyone gets the same calls. You could just simply tell each other the numbers of the folks you have calling and take it from there. Since you want total access and shit. Or maybe one phone gets text and the other gets the calls..lol I don't know..work that shit out. Lets see how you like your 'access' then..

Sharing the same email? I mean, they are emails right? Since there is no reason for 'multiple emails' 'cause you know folks with multiple emails cheat and shit, just get ONE BIG EMAIL. Or maybe two that you both have access and use with big storage capabilities. I know someone who did this. Well, it started off that way. I suspect that folks looked at it and discovered really quick, this is pretty silly. Alas, I still want to see it done for those who are so hell bent on having 'access'. So go on ahead and erase that email you have had for 10 years and get a joint email! (Sarcasm)

Oh and if you are 'DOWN WITH IT' AND IN A RELATIONSHIP, please suggest these things and let me see the results. I would love to see just how many of you not only 'would' but HAVE DONE SO. I mean since I know some of you would say 'I would' just to try to shut me up. Let me see the results. I'm sure SOMEONE will do it. Not sure how happy they would be but yeah...

Yeah that shit SOUNDS ABSURD doesn't it? Well, that's exactly how you want things though. You want access which means for all intents and purposes, you might as well SHARE AN ACCOUNT. I've seen y'all clown folks who share a Facebook so don't act like that shit would 'be okay' What's wrong Mr./Mrs. It Is About Trust? You want trust right? Lets do that though. Lets be 'transparent' then. Yeah...I didn't think so..

Shout out to all of you who 'tip toe up to the line' of wrong and think that because you didn't 'put your whole body' over it that you have 'been good'. You 'haven't'. The jig is up. You thought it, you relayed that you would and by proxy, you might as well have just went ahead and did it. @ the feelings being involved.

Snooping sometimes nets results. Again, I'm not an idiot. Most of the time though...nothing. Most folks who ARE DOING SHIT aren't doing shit in that fashion. Not anyone with any skill. You aren't picking up the regular phone and getting numbers off of it. You aren't getting primary and secondary emails and intercepting 'lusty emails and shit' Nope. Probably aren't even getting Twitter passwords and picking up FULL ON CONVERSATIONS there either. Not with anyone who has any experience. You are more than likely going to end up doing shit like this....

You are gonna find something you think is 'suspect'. You are gonna start asking questions and eventually do some dumb shit and REALLY FUCK SOME SHIT UP. I've seen folks decide to call 'That number that only pops up when he/she is on the way home from work' thinking they had someone 'busted'.

Next thing you know, they are on the phone with someone's boss, asking 'Who the fuck is this and why the fuck are you calling XYZ" getting folks at the very least laughed at their place of employment and at worst FIRED for having some woman/man call their phone pissing THEIR WOMAN/MAN off over some bullshit. At that point, all the 'I'm sorry' in the World can't take that back'. Laugh all you want but I've been the person who got that call. Those calls have costs folks business and more 'cause it makes me think "What kind of people do you DEAL with who are going through your phone and COLD CALLING FOLKS?"

Am I asking you to be a fool? No. You see 'Hey come over and fuck me..." in a tagline  OF COURSE YOU SHOULD BE SNAPPING I suppose. Nobody is saying that shit. Then again, that scenario is not how it USUALLY goes down.

Out here fucking folks money and rep looking like an idiot in the process.

Who am I fooling...lets give our passwords out...Shit...why stop there...(SARCASM LIKE A MOFO)

You ever heard the saying 'To be a fly on the wall'? I'm sure you have..... That is what you want isn't it? @ this access...Limited fly on the wall access...anytime you damm well please..Just because...Man listen here....

If you ACTUALLY GOT TO HEAR/SEE/WITNESS every little 'act' that your SO, I don't care how sweet/innocent/faithful/whatever encountered, you'd give yourself a heart attack. You'd NEVER be in a relationship. Trust me. The folks that know this don't ask for passwords*** and the like 'cause they already know how that ends. You end up looking like a jealous lunatic and sabotaging shit.

I HAVE ANOTHER IDEA! Lets plant a bug on each other and listen in to each other's conversations while the other one isn't around! Doesn't that sound like fun? C'mon it will be fun. You can censor yourself. I can censor myself..Or better still, you can HEAR EVERYTHING I WOULD SAY THAT YOU SHOULD ALREADY KNOW I WOULD SAY, GET YOUR FEELINGS HURT AND BE PISSED OFF AT ME WHEN YOU FINALLY DO SEE ME.

Oh wait....I know...we can INSTALL CAMERAS ON OURSELVES OR TURN THE PHONE THAT YOU WANT ACCESS TO INTO A VIRTUAL SPY CAMERA AND YOU CAN SEE AND HEAR WHAT I AM SAYING!! I mean why stop at just 'phone access'??? Doesn't that sound fun? You can get one too! Then we can, once again, censor ourselves, not say what we mean....I mean we can behave accordingly and no one will ever get into any trouble. Right? Right...-_-

Bet your ass won't be going to the store alone as long as you are with him/her after that shit...lmao

You'd be a nervous wreck or locked the fuck up...one or the other if we had things the way some of you want it.

I know folks don't want to get hurt. I know folks want to be 'diligent'. That's fine. I'm all for that. What I am not all for is indicting folks for a simple 'pass code'. Nope. Not unless you are willing to then have 'all joint everything', that is double talk in my book. @ folks acting like a password is the devil. In addition, if you REALLY feel like you need 'someone's password' to feel 'secure', as MUCH AS IT PAINS ME TO SAY IT, MAYBE YOU SHOULDN'T BE WITH THEM or anyone else or at the very least, scale back your feelings the best way you know how. **** I suggest you fall back a tad in some capacity if you find yourself that bothered about a password. Shit will come out. It always does and if you can't wait for shit to do so but you know there is some 'shit', take your chances and do what you gotta do. Just make sure you are right.

*They may know. They may not know. Who knows. Some folks have the capacity to take that shit. Clearly, you aren't one of them though. Hence you looking through their shit. It is always funny to me when folks go looking for shit and then they find out they were snooped on too. @ when running up on someone with 'ammo' backfires. Happy snooping...

***unless it is to an account with ACTUAL INFORMATION LIKE BILLS AND SHIT LIKE THAT ONE MIGHT REALLY NEED ACCESS TO. That is DIFFERENT THOUGH. That is not the same as asking for 'social reasons'.

**** I don't expect you kiddies to understand that last one. That sounds like some 'unicorn' shit to you probably. You'd probably just 'leave'. If you can, do so. LOL I just offer up this one phrase..."People fall in and out of love and BACK IN LOVE again, over the course of their relationship/marriage". Now where do you suppose that saying came from young scrap? You have 'all the answers' THOUGH so I'll let you sit in your 'thinking chair' and figure it out. :) I'm sure you will come up with your 'It won't be me.." mantra.. You don't know how much I truly hope it isn't you. "Cause you are gonna get yourself royally fucked up, hot grits style, if you tout that to someone and you find yourself in that very situation after you done ran your mouth about 'what you would never do'...

Siri vs. Google Search: Test Shows iPhone Assistant Isn't A Google Competitor Just Yet

Very interesting.Sure that Siri will be improved though. I use the voice command on my 'Droid all the time. Very nice feature.

Siri
Gene Munster, an analyst, tested Siri's ability to answer questions against Google's search function.
Siri might be going to summer school.
Piper Jaffray analyst and noted Apple fanatic Gene Munster decided to pit Siri against Google's web search in a supreme battle of the popular search interfaces. Munster asked Siri and Google 800 identical questions -- inputting the queries via text in Google and by voice in Siri -- and then recorded how many of the questions Siri and Google could answer correctly.
Munster also tested Siri's hearing and the iPhone 4S's noise-canceling capabilities, asking it 800 questions indoors, in a quiet room, and 800 questions outdoors, at a busy intersection, through the microphone of a set of Skullcandy headphones.
The key takeaway from Munster's experiment? Siri is still very, very much in beta.
Indoors, Siri was able to comprehend the words he spoke 89 percent of the time; at the busy intersection, that percentage fell to 83 (though perhaps this is more an indictment of the Skullcandy headphones). Of the 800 questions asked, Siri returned a correct answer just 62 percent of the time. Google, meanwhile, returned a correct answer 86 percent of the time (and, obviously, understood 100 percent of the queries, as the words were typed into a search box).
Long-time Apple watcher Philip Elmer-DeWitt has a bunch of the 800 questions that Siri was unable to answer correctly:

(Video) Google announces Jellybean 'officially' X my Galaxy Nexus purchase...

My Current Homescreen

Courtesy of the good folks at CNET... (Thank you..)

I was going to write about my new phone purchase but then I got this bit of news so I decided to combine the two in a way that I only I could...

First Jellybean..

The new platform features improved performance with better touch responsiveness, higher frame rates for animations, improved notifications, a completely redesigned search function among other things.  Looks like 'the Android' version of Siri (Which was here first...but poorly pushed IMHO) will get even more improvements. More interaction. Better directions.

Looks like the Voice command will be available offline as well. Which is huge.

The camera app, which is probably my only 'real complaint' about my phone is set to be improved as well. It works a little differently than the one I had on my Thumderbolt and it looks like it will model itself more after that with instant access to the picture you have just taken and the like. Right now, there is a little 'box' on the side that you have to click to even SEE YOUR PICTURE. Not horrible but it could be better. Looks like this update will address that.

Looks like my device (Galaxy Nexus), the Nexus S and the  Motorola XOOM will get it around mid-July..Hopefully.

The Galaxy Nexus:

My Current Homescreen

Well I got it on Saturday night so I have only had it about four days (at press time). The verdict so far?

Here is what I feel like I did. I basically traded a better camera (8 megapixels on the Thunderbolt's back camera), a data card and the ability to play music 'offline' without using Google Cloud for the ability to have 'timely software updates, no data card, COMPLETE BACK UP CAPABILITIES (As I could NEVER get my 'Bolt to totally sync up with Google via my pictures and the like) and a lighter feeling phone. That's probably the best way I could describe it.

Things I will miss:

I just said it. The camera. Good thing I actually know HOW TO TAKE PICTURES though. 5 MEGAPIXELS will do. I do know that the 8 mega compensated for some things but that just means I will have to use what I know now more than ever. Which is fine. I took some test shots in the store and have fooled around with it enough. The 5 mega is more than sufficient. The front camera thing is a 'wash' to me 'cause it is a FRONT FACING CAMERA. There aren't that many phones that have a front facing camera that are 'all love' anyway. So I'm not pressed about it. Again..get in good lighting and use the right angles. @ how I'm gonna approach that.

The thing I will miss the most is not having to use Google Music UNLESS I WANTED TO. Don't get me wrong, I clearly liked Google Music. I had it on the Thunderbolt. It was when I was working out that I had issues with the 'cloud' thing. It would go in and out. Sometimes it would freeze. No such issues if you are pulling music from the phone's SD card. Or at least there are minimal issues. So I will miss that. It also hindered the 'transfer' process but LUCKILY THAT IS JUST A ONE TIME DEAL so I can get over that....Speaking of the transfer process..lets get into what I love about the phone...

What I love about the Nexus:

Timely updates. As you can see, I just wrote about JellyBean. I was stuck on Gingerbread on my Thunderbolt. The Thunderbolt probably won't get ICE CREAM SANDWICH UNTIL SEPTEMBER. Maybe. By that time, my Nexus will have Jellybean HOPEFULLY. Get where I am going with this? So yes, the 'updates' are a big factor to me. I have toiled long enough with a 'just launched' phone. I've done that my past two phones. That is why I didn't wait for the new Galaxy S 3. Pretty sure it is going to be an awesome phone. Also pretty sure that there will be issues. As there are with all phones. This phone that I have currently is enough for me. I no longer have the 'got to have the LATEST PHONE' itch. Give me one that works well and will be updated timely and I am good.

I love the way it actually SYNCS UP WITH GOOGLE. I can access ALL OF MY STUFF FINALLY. Not get an app for this. Or use this app for that. It is ALL THERE. My photos. My numbers. My blog. Everything syncs up perfectly. I don't have to 'hop around' to get to things either. Sharing is SO MUCH EASIER ON THIS PHONE. The screen is PRETTY just like it was on the 'Bolt and my Otterbox actually has a screen protector which my other one did not (Although to compensate, they sunk it in a bit so the screen was never in any real danger. I know...I dropped it a couple of times. Held up well..) These things shouldn't come to me as any surprise because it is a 'Google' phone though. I'm just not used to things syncing up so well so it is kind of nice.

The ability to screen shot.

I love this. No rooting. No 'special app'. Just side button/volume down...BOOM. Like it should be. There are so many 'pictures' that I have wanted to take that involved my screen that I no longer have to wait for. Big deal for me personally as I social network, blog, etc. I can create my own images. I like that freedom and  you will probably see the proof in that when I post those pictures here on the blog.

The interface..

I like it. It is smooth and basic. To the point. Fairly easy to navigate. Doesn't hang too much.

The overall verdict:

For now I am very satisfied with the purchase. It was one I was looking to make for awhile. I thought of getting a Razr but I'm not a fan of Motorola (Nextels for YEARS) and I didn't want to get another HTC phone (although I didn't hate it..). With the impending release of JellyBean, it looks like I made an even better choice than I first thought. Very happy with what I have so far. Haven't tried video calling or anything on the phone though. So there are a few more things that I need to do before I can call the purchase a COMPLETE SUCCESS. I am doing something that I had NOT DONE WITH MY OTHER PHONE RIGHT NOW THOUGH. I'm writing this blog post from it. It was VERY DIFFICULT TO DO THE EDITING, THE POSTING OF THE PICTURES AND THE VIDEO CODING ON THE THUNDERBOLT. It is not that hard to do it on here. Copying and pasting is much easier and it just moves better.

(Technology) More updates for Android X @Instagram for Android Update Brings New Feature

A shot I altered using the effect...

That is a picture of the screen where you will notice the addition.. It is something that Android users were missing before. I compensated for it by using different apps to make the effect but it is nice to have 'right there'. I will say that.

In case you haven't seen my tutorial on Android for Instagram with a few must have apps, go here. I think it will help you out some. I do all the things you see those with iPhones do and then some with my flicks. It isn't that hard. Trust me.

http://thewarehous.blogspot.com/2012/04/appsandroidiphonesmartphone-so-you-got.html

Again..my pics weren't blurry but I've 'heard' iPhone users 'crow' about their photos looking a 'certain kinda way'..This simple feature is a BIG PART WHY. @ the enhancements..For those who haven't seen tutorials like mine, this is why their pics looked the way they do and yours don't. This feature and the fact that they have had the app for a minute and know the 'other apps to use' to make their pictures stand out. Not because of their 'camera'. Don't be fooled outchea...lol

Anyhow, the feature is pretty dope.

Here's a complete review of the app for those of you who are still feeling your way around....

(Words) #Instragram #Android #iPhone X Lies X Elitism X Hate and OUR need to fall in line with it...

You can ENLARGE THE PICTURE.. Or hit the link below to get to it..

http://instagr.am/p/JGsMnapTER/ elitism

Let me help you if you don't understand what I mean by 'our' first. So that there is no speculation. I'm talking about people of color. Yeah, that need DOES affect others but they aren't the ones coming from a point of view being 'stepped on', down trodden and just out and out disrespected. Why the hell does that matter? Glad you asked Sherlock! It is important because you would THINK that coming from such a place, we wouldn't fall into the habit of doing it to EACH OTHER under most circumstances. Yet, time and time again, we slip RIGHT INTO THOSE SAME HABITS. As I like to say....'Whitey taught you well...'

I mean we have cats out here claiming 'Team this' and 'Team that' over MATERIAL THINGS. It isn't just 'jokes' either. I don't want to hear that. Folks are out here basing their PERSONALITIES and their 'swag' on these things so don't hand me that 'I'm just joking nigga' shit. Nope. Ya'll are out here getting personal with it. Talking about if 'You don't have this'..you ain't shit. Meanwhile, you don't have LIFE'S BASICS down.

The kicker? SOME* OF YOU ARE BEING ELITIST ABOUT SHIT THAT YOU HAVE NO REAL KNOWLEDGE OF! Going by what your geeky 'white boy' who is SCARED TO DEATH OF YOUR ASS tells you and taking it as the gospel. Or my favorite, just being sheep and going with what you see said White People do. (But then want to get mad when they buy hip hop and say that those SAME RECORDS SALES FROM THE WHITE PEOPLE YOU ARE TRYING TO EMULATE all of the sudden don't matter! Interesting..) I probably know more about YOUR PHONE THAN YOU DO. Same with your car. Same with that 'fancy eatery' that you have claimed as 'your spot' that you don't want 'anybody else to eat at...'**

Back to the phone thing though, 'cause it is the latest 'issue'. The picture up top is from MY INSTAGRAM. (Follow or don't follow..IDGAF.. Do you..). I have a ANDROID THUNDERBOLT and no I don't hate Apple. The joints we used to have in school as a child? I had EVERYONE AS MY DAD FIXED COMPUTERS ON THE SIDE. (I'm also proficient in old archaic languages like Colbalt and Pascal..lmao) Point being is, I don't have an 'issue' with Apple. My issue is with you elitist ass cats with your misinformation and the fact you actually had the AUDACITY TO GET MAD ABOUT FOLKS GETTING INSTAGRAM. Shit is laughable B. Here's some of the bullshit I have heard some of you spew out for the last week. (I wish I would have actually favorited the tweets. I just wasn't that worried about 'em at the time but I remember 'em..)

You can see who said this here....https://twitter.com/#!/carolinaware/status/187648184561057793

Iphones have a better camera...

These 'Droid users and their shitty cameras pictures are messing up Instagram....

These 'Droid users are UPLOADING PICTURES LEFT AND RIGHT. Got my stream going HAM. Don't upload so many pictures.

Dear Droid users, don't upload pictures of yourself or I will unfollow you. @ too many self pictures...

#iPhone only @ those pictures that are edited JUST LIKE THE ONE I PUT TOP...

Instagram has become rachet since Android users joined...

(Chuckles) I have more but I SPOKE directly to those folks on the TL and saw they were just joking/we kinda talked that out. These though? Oh these niggas are SERIOUS ABOUT THIS. Every other tweet was about it. I can say I didn't call it though:

 http://thewarehous.blogspot.com/2012/03/instagram-for-android-shown-off-at-sxsw.html

As far the camera claim and the pictures:

I think we all knew that the launch wasn't going to be 'smooth'. The last two updates have shown it wasn't 'user error' (even I had said that jokingly...Knowing it wasn't.. I personally disproved that...) It was a system error within the app. Android users weren't even allowed to upload some pictures because they were 'too small'. They fixed that though and with that also fixed 95% of the blurry pictures. Even though I personally went around that issue by using PicsArt to upload pics or KD Collage as I explained in THIS POST..

 http://thewarehous.blogspot.com/2012/04/appsandroidiphonesmartphone-so-you-got.html

If you go to MY INSTAGRAM, the only blurry pictures are the ones I MADE BLURRY MYSELF as I didn't want you nosy motherfuckers to see certain shit. That's it. lol

Better camera? Stop that shit.. First of all, everyone isn't posting pictures they took with their cameras on their phones. Second of all....

http://www.pcworld.com/article/241955-2/smartphone_camera_battle_iphone_4s_vs_the_android_elite.html

Better screen? Yes. Better pictures? Nope. I mean we can get down to the brass tax of things if we are going spec for spec. Non removable batteries. No ability to add storage. No native Flash playing.. I won't bring up the other issues that Apple JUST NOW GOT TOGETHER just like Android has done. In other words, both phones have 'issues'/faults if you will. It is a matter of preference. You have to know the FACTS though. Stop going on 'speculation' and what your favorite 'rapper' is telling you is the better phone.. lol For real.

As far as the 'amount' of pictures:

Again, ya'll kill me. First you won't follow folks who 'don't have a lot of pictures' because you want to see what they are 'going to post' then it is 'You post too much.'.. I have one thing to say to that...

"The touch..the feel....the fabric of the hate...." - Set to the tune of the following video...

 <param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/VIrfR2UEycg?version=3&feature=player_detailpage"><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"><param name="allowScriptAccess" value="always">src="http://www.youtube.com/v/VIrfR2UEycg?version=3&feature=player_detailpage" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowfullscreen="true" allowScriptAccess="always" width="640" height="360">

  <iframe width="420" height="315" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/cayXJcf4LjY" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen>iframe>

Make up your minds outchea folks. I know you had the app for two years now but you are quite hoemotional about this here shit. It is a app. Deal with it.

Outchea with the oppressive tactics that have been used against you.. Get up off that horse.

I already dispelled that 'iPhone' only quality bullshit. I can do it again though...@ the tricked out pictures.. Here you go...

UPDATE: I left out one....

Ratchedness...

THERE IS A WHOLE OTHER SIDE OF INSTAGRAM SOME OF YOU DON'T FOLLOW. I knew about it BEFORE I WAS ABLE TO LOG ON TO IT FROM MY DROID. All you have to do is type in Ware's Faves..I'd say 30% of the RECENT PICTURES came from gals who have Instagram (Yaris, Maliah, Sultry Simone, etc). THEY ALL POST THEIR PICS ON INSTAGRAM. Always have. They are iPhone users... All of them. Most video 'models', vixens, urban models or whatever you want to call them do. We didn't make this shit rachet. It already was.

*Can you read? I said some......Not all....some. Every person of color who owns an iPhone isn't like that. The VAST MAJORITY OF YOU ARE THOUGH...

** Like they can stay in business waiting on YOU to frequent their establishment...lmao As if. Trust me, they like your business but they weren't AIMING FOR YOU. You are icing on the cake baby! Believe that. When your fleeting tastes move on to the 'next big thing', they will be just fine.

(Apps/Android/iPhone/Smartphone) So you got Instagram for Android & your pictures are 'too small' huh? I have some good news..#instagram #android

I had that same issue. Couldn't find a solution. Looked EVERYWHERE. No dice. Here's how I got around it... PicsArt was the starting point as far as getting the collage thing down BUT the APP THAT HELPED ME CRACK THE 'TOO SMALL' CODE was KD Collage (Click the link..takes you right to the app store..Or click the QR codes below) ... I stumbled upon it awhile ago but never had a use for it. Until now. All this time the answer was sitting in my apps. Waiting to be used..smh (Which is a shame actually 'cause I have found OTHER USES FOR IT BESIDES INSTAGRAM NOW..-_-) You have to use the PRO VERSION OF IT THOUGH as it is this version that allow you to post LARGER PICTURES. The free version only does it in 'mobile phone' size which is the problem.*

Can I post DIRECTLY to Instagram FROM THIS APP? - You

Paid version (the one you need)

The free version if you want to 'kick the tires' and get familiar with it to see what it is all about..

Yep! You can post to a bevy of places actually. Facebook too. This app just isn't an Instagram add on. I post to Mobli, Facebook and Twitter from this app. I have even taken to posting SINGLE PICTURES from this app 'cause I can tweak it BEFORE I get to Instagram. (I suspect that is what some iPhones users are doing with their pictures to make them 'stand out'.) I now see why folks love the app so much once you know how to get add ons to it. I also see why 'folks who DO TAKE PICTURES' ARE ON THAT 'You aren't a photographer' ish too...lol I see both sides of it now. Both might be right. (Unless you are messing with pictures that you already took..)

Photo Grid works pretty good for those pictures that DO FIT that you have taken with your camera. I don't want to leave that app out. It is a beautiful app as well. I didn't list it first because it doesn't allow (or at least I have figured out how) to resize my pictures to be able to upload them to Instagram. It does do this though:

Features:
* High mode: put your photos in a list
* Wide mode: put your photos in a row
* Multi mode: No restriction on the number of photo
* Single mode: you can edit a single photo
* Load images from the gallery.
* Five group to choose.
* Two kinds of model choose photo.(thumbnail, watermark.)
* Tap or shake to rearrange photos.
* Edit grid, Swap, Rotate, Move, Zoom, Sketch.
* A lot of image templates.
* Border type changeable.
* Share your collage using: Twitter, Facebook, Gmail...
* Language support: English, Korean, Chinese, Traditional Chinese, Japanese.
And,best of all...it's FREE!

I am probably not going to make a WHOLE OTHER POST if I find more stuff. I will just be adding it on here. (Unless I find out a TON OF STUFF...) So check back here.

I figured the techies would get started on a list.. Here's one.. Go to it and try it out. (I muddled my way through SEVERAL LISTS yesterday when NO ONE had an answer to my issue and bam...I found a solution... with help from my peoples in B-More Bew Radley @ her start iphone app list which gave me an idea of what I should be looking for in an app to do what I wanted to do..)

http://smashinghub.com/10-best-android-apps-for-photo-sharing.htm

I saw this the other day... In case you don't want to go through what I've done here. I can't guarantee picture quality but hey...The ONLY issue I see right now with this tutorial is if you aren't on Ice Cream Sandwich, you can't screen shot without a root. If you are rooted, you don't need to do this 'cause you can run numerous apps that screenshot and probably crop/resize as well. *shrugs*

*I am going to go out on a limb and say that pictures are compressed when they are transferred to your phone which is why they are TOO SMALL. If I am wrong, so be it. All I know is that the pictures are the RIGHT SIZE WHEN I USE THIS app. That I do know. I say this because almost ALL OF MY PICTURES I HAVE TAKEN WITH THE CANON are HUGE. Except in their state on my phone... They are too small to post on Instagram as they are on my phone. The only reason I can come up to is that they were compressed to fit on the SD card to begin with. The only other pictures I've had issues with are those taken with my old BB Storm. Lower quality cam so I understand those being 'unacceptable'. I don't have ANY ISSUES with pictures I have taken with the Thunderbolt that I try to put up directly to Instagram though. None.

(Smartphone/Apps) So..#Instragram has hit the Android Market you say??

Cats are out here salty too! I told you earlier last month it was coming though.. As you can see up top, I do have it..

In case you are having issues with finding it in the Play store/it says your phone is incompatible with the app and you KNOW IT IS (2.2 or higher..) , use the Play weblink..

https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.instagram.android

Still having trouble? The good folks at Android Phone Fans have a video..(Damm where was this at when I was fumbling through this earlier? lol)

UPDATE: It was suggested by a good friend of mine that the following programs be used with Instagram. I am looking for their equivalents now..>>> ...Pic Stitch, Pic Frame and Nostalgio. Found a couple but none to solve the dreaded 'picture is too small' error most are getting. I'm working on it though. @ an answer. I have a few ideas...

I found an answer to the 'too small' picture thing.... AND A FEW ALTERNATIVES TO PITCH STITCH TO BOOT..
http://thewarehous.blogspot.com/2012/04/appsandroidiphonesmartphone-so-you-got.html

Watch out for those angry iPhone users who are not happy about having their only real 'chip' over other phone users.

I will also say that for some of you who use some of the other picture apps of the World, you might not be all that 'impressed' by the features. It is a nice app but I suspect it is more about the social networking/secret society aspect that existed prior to today. You just 'couldn't get in' unless you had an iPhone. Even if it was from Walmart for $50. That changed today. Think of how BBM users used to talk about that feature and how everyone who didn't have it 'felt they were missing out'. @ exclusivity of it all. I tell you, these folks who develop these apps SURE KNOW HOW TO PLAY ON THAT. Even with the release of it on Android today. *

My username on there? There is a hint in the blog's title (it includes my username it would have been my username but.....) I warn you, I will probably be boring unless I am out at a concert or out and about. I would hope anyway.. @ my usage.

*Something else I find interesting in that most iPhone users are upset like it is a 'class issue'. Peep the price I gave for the one available at Walmart. Are they sure they want to make it about that? The other thing I found interesting is I see mostly folks of certain skin tones RIDING HARD for said class issue. Same folks who are upset when something they 'don't have' is used against them and they are ridiculed, excluded, shunned, discriminated against, etc, etc, etc... Just an observation. @ what behavior folks seem to learn from their oppressors. Yeah..you knew SOMEWHERE I WAS GOING TO go in WITH IT.
