This is really for my 'younger'/less hip hop 'headish' followers who I have seen type/tweet/Facebook whatever that the Kendrick Lamars..the Ab-Souls.... and the like seem to have come out of nowhere/why wasn't anyone working with them before.... Naw. You are just too busy listening SOLELY to the radio TO NOTICE.
They were out here. Gotta listen to the vets in the game. They know talent. @ rappers like Big Rapper Pooh.
Now that I've gotten you here.. allow me to give Rapper Pooh his just due. I mean it WAS HIS TRACK AFTER ALL. So yeah...
You SHOULD BE FAMILIAR WITH RAPPER BIG POOH.. that is if you are a hip hop fan like you say you are.. *snickers*.. Anyway, get familiar if you are not..
Yeah.. I'm gonna leave the nostalgia alone... and only put up ONE TRACK of where you DEFINITELY SHOULD KNOW HIM FROM..
Nas Lost (Ghostwriters) | FWMJ's Rappers I Know
I'mma make you go their site to read the rest. They deserve that. I'm just passing it along..I'm not even putting it up to 'disparage' Nas. Really I am not. Hell, I don't even know if it is TRUE! (If I wanted to, I'd write WAY MORE THAN I AM NOW. Those of you have been here KNOW HOW I GET WHEN I WANT TO WRITE ABOUT SOMETHING..)...READING IS FUNDAMENTAL. I'm not sure what the numerical amount on 'largely' is but I know it is over 50%....I also know it doesn't mean ALL.. Two people are mentioned....I am not sure if some of you know how 'music' works but there is OFTEN a team of folks who 'help' the artist. Oh that's not how you and your mans get down when you hit the 'stu'? Gotta ask you this then?
Who are you and do I know you on a major level? Straight like that. No disso but really? Who are you and what have you written SOLO/DOLO full length project style that I could name to ten random people who LOVE HIP HOP, who aren't your friends/co-workers/etc, that folks would hip me to? Oh okay.... So you saying that 'I don't do that', while it may true, you are also not Nas. Nor anyone close to his level. I won't disrespect you and say you can't make music but it works for plenty of folks who are where you are trying to be... Keep reading below..I get into a bit if you don't know...

UPDATE:
I have had folks ask me about 'sources', where/how does Jay Elec fit in, what does Stic Man (or Nas) for that matter have to do with it and more importantly WHO IS THE PERSON BEHIND RAPPERSIKNOW....I've even had some of you ask me 'Who is Dream Hampton"? Which would be cool except YOU ARE THEN TURNING AROUND CITING FACTS AND POINTS THAT COME BEFORE DREAM OR FRANK WILLIAMS...I guess if you are asking because you TRULY DON'T KNOW, I HAVE NO BEEF, BUT IF YOU ARE BEING 'condescending' AND YOU DON'T KNOW WHO THEY ARE, I have to question you. Use Google fam...lol Here's a hint though..

Oh and here is Nas in JUNE 2012, ON BBC RADIO speaking on the album "Untitled' being a JOINT ALBUM WITH JAY ELECTRONICA.... *shrugs* Now we know Jay wasn't 'signed' to Roc Nation when the other alleged tracks were made but you are a fool if you think someone has to be signed to a label to ghostwrite for someone else.
I'd also like to address the 'Well if he was a ghostwriter for Puff, then why would he need a ghostwriter for his stuff?" question...
I will answer that question straight like this since the folks answering, once again, quoted history in an attempt to dispel this. You do know Big Daddy Kane wrote for Biz Markie right? Oh... The 'exact' reason why? Who knows but that doesn't make it AT LEAST PLAUSIBLE. @ the fact that it may have happened. I mean I would LOVE TO HEAR FROM NAS on the subject....and oh WAIT.. GO TO THE 23:13 MARK OF THIS AUDIO BELOW... That might help you believe that him and Jay Elec have a 'working relationship'...
Why is this just coming out?- You
Why would it come out sooner? There's a motive for sure just don't know exactly what it is but I can think of plenty. Someone is not happy with their payment....someone just told the wrong person and put trust in the wrong place. Someone doesn't like Nas. All 'eh' reasons but things that don't negate the truth. Plenty of things happen for 'hoe ass' reasons (not that not getting paid is a 'hoe ass' reason but I digress) but that doesn't mean that the information that gets released isn't true. Y'all are funny as FUCK when it comes to hearing shit you don't like. Kim Kardashian's a hoe because of a tape but you can only name one tape she has and six people she has been with since her she was 15 but Nas can't have a ghostwriter even though THE MAJORITY OF THE INDUSTRY HAS GHOSTWRITERS AND A TEAM OF WRITERS? -_-
Look...nobody is saying that Nas NEVER WROTE ANYTHING. Nope. I don't ....or WOULDN'T EVER BELIEVE THAT. Sometimes though, SOMEONE ELSE MAY HAVE A BETTER IDEA AND YOU WANT TO USE IT. It happens. He says AS MUCH IN THAT AUDIO UP TOP about Untitled and how he loved Jay's ideas about using Dilla! Now if that doesn't do it for you....I don't know what else to say.

Nas Lost (Ghostwriters)
@dreamhampton Is Jay really that concerned with losing $ that he cant just say "Fuck my image" and make an Untitled (Nigger album) like Nas?
I think Jay writes what he believes. Nas' "Nigger" album was largely written by Stic of dead prez and Jay Electronica @JusAire
Nas speaking on it..
Autumn, but maybe Winter, 2007 was a weird time of life for me. I was one and a half years into my 4 year stint at HOT 97 where I would low key plot on how to somehow have whatever “backpacking” rapper I liked that quarter getting 150 spins a week (hey, I was young and naive, and didn’t understand what Radio Business was actually about). One of the gods had fallen.
The day Jay called me at work to tell me he was ghostwriting for Nas was a hard day for me. On one hand, I was happy that a friend of mine that seemingly no one cared an iota for a year or two prior was quickly ascending through the ranks of hip hop as a voice to pay attention to and a career in the making to watch. Earlier that summer we’d posted and artworked Act I and word was quickly spreading that he was a one to watch. Not too long after began that yearly teasing at Christmastime that Act II: The Pledge would be dropping for free as a download that would surely overload my server and shut down my site from traffic. It’s 2013 and we’re still waiting.

(Music) #MusicMonday X @IamAnitaBaker puts her foot all the way into @Tyrese's "Lately"/Lead single off of new album.. Only Forever
If her music appearing here 'seems odd' to you, then you better HIT THE FAST FORWARD ON THE MUSIC PLAYER BELOW. I LOVE ANITA BAKER. ALWAYS HAVE. ALWAYS WILL. For the record. Not much you can say to me about Sweet Anita..
Yeesh... Yeesh...YEESH...(Go to the bottom of the page and push pause on the music player for a second... Now!) I mean she just sings so effortlessly... Hat tip to my girl over at Music Nerdery...
You probably saw the other Anita post I did on her new forth coming album but at that time, this track wasn't revealed...
How did this come about? @ her covering Tyrese's track.....
Again..COURTESY OF Music Nerdery... Read the WHOLE BREAKDOWN THERE.. Here is a piece..

“['Lately' is] one of the first songs we cut, analog, in Nashville,” she reveals. “I brought in a live rhythm section. I brought it to L.A., and I called [Tyrese] into the studio and I played it for him; he had no idea. And he lost it, of course. He was like, ‘I know who has got to produce this!’ I’m like, ‘I already know, I got Harvey Mason, Jr., on tap.’”
Another song that will be featured on Only Forever is the title track, produced by world-renowned musician Nathan East, whose performed as part of the jazz quartet Fourplay and written for the likes of Stevie Wonder and Eric Clapton, among others.
(Videos) Speaking of Charles Barkley...
..the disrespect for his game is laughable.
I know it is hard for some of you 'youngsters' to fathom how good he was because..well...there is NO PLAYER in the NBA like him. No one playing now or in the past, was a TRUE POWER FORWARD at 6'4ish. Dunking on 7 footers OFF A TWO FOOT POST AND PLANT MOVE ON THE REG. Or spinning off a baseline, landing on two feet and STILL DUNKING ON CATS. That doesn't happen like that from your POWER FORWARD now. Even when you play Lebron at the 4, he doesn't DO THAT 'cause his post work is in progress. Charles ALWAYS PLAYED IN THE POST so he had an ALL AROUND POST GAME.
I love how everyone loves to 'dismiss' his game due to his lack of chips. He was one of my favorite players ever. Ever. Everyone likes to talk about Pip dunking on Ewing..There is one in here of Chuck doing him in...David Robinson gets some too.. remember...Chuck was MAYBE 6'4.. Definitely not 6'6 as listed and even if he was 6'6..HE PLAYED POWER FORWARD against cats who were 6'10 and up on the reg... Foot work was immaculate.
I also think folks forgot that Chuck had a 'handle'. Peep the highlights. He was not just some big dude lumbering up the court.
Him elbowing Mike.....lmao
The 'Charles Barkley' many of you know now...

(Words/Guest Blogger) Words by @jg24lyfe X Mr. Wiley Can't Be Happy
May 04, 2012ESPN, Grahamzlaw, Jg24lyfe, Legend, Michael Smith, Ralph Wiley, Skip Bayless, sports, Stephen A. Smith

BLOGGER NOTE: I am mad I didn't write this. I promise I am. Hats of to Graham for this.. For real.
It's around 2:30 am and I'm making that dreaded trip to the toilet. No matter how well positioned, your slippers are never truly visible in the dark. Under normal circumstances no big deal but this morning the dream was too good and too real. Ralph Wiley was talking to me...
Now, I've had celebrities in my dreams but breast and ass always set the stage but not tonight. Ralph Wiley was talking to me...
Mr. Wiley was angry. And needs you to keep his name out your mouth.
For those of you who don't know Mr. Wiley was a wordsmith with the ability to charm and blast you without as much as a deep breath. Socially aware and outspoken in both written and broadcast journalism. Not one to compromise or retreat because if he said it, he meant it. A superior knowledge of NFL, NBA, boxing and MLB made the most basic sports fan stand at attention or in my case sit in awe. He inspired me with his command. He was "telling the truth". A Black truth.
"Graham, wake up. I need to talk and you're going to listen."
Face was familiar but didn't catch the voice. What the fuck, didn't matter because I wasn't resting well.
"Did these negros not expect me to come back? Was I expected to rest in peace as they continue to sight me as a part of the inspiration in their approach to sports journalism?"
"Oh shit! Its Ralph Wiley! Haha, my man...wait, shouldn't this conversation take place with one of the ESPN types who profess their undying love for you?"
"Tried that. You think I'd come to you first? Not likely but I knew you'd listen, besides...you weren't sleeping well and about to make that can run."
"True." He had me there and the overriding thought was hurry up cause I'm not going to make it through one of those SportReporters type slow drags.
"Besides, I could take this to Online Black something or other."
"Would you really do that Mr. Wiley? Really?"
"No, he's part of the problem. I think he still prays to me. Nice guy though but I digress. You listening or what?"
"Yes sir."
"I'm going to keep this short and to the point. You don't have to tell it but I have to get this of my chest. You know I died of a heart attack right? Anyway, I can't believe that the people who swear their inspiration is me can have their voices muted by a mouse. Really, Mickey has the power to quiet the voices that say I'm their guide, the one that moves them to be better? To be great?"
I'm sitting up now. Why? Because it's the truth.
"This is a dream so lay your ass down. Do you know how much it pains me to see all these wonderfully talented writers and minds controlled by an entity that wears white gloves, clogs, & no shirt?"
"Mr. Wiley, they point to their paychecks. The money is the driving factor. They speak their minds only when they think no ones watching. Hard to reach and question because of their position."
"Bryant H. McGill once said, and I quote, "The world is not fair, and often fools, cowards, liars and the selfish hide in high places."
"Graham here is my heart...I want...no, no, no, I need someone, anyone, to step up and be the voice I lost too soon. Can you do this? I'm not sure but I trust you to try. This won't make you popular amongst those who desire to be me or like me but our black athletes need an uncompromising voice who values the personal story above the check. Someone who will communicate what's right and not what they're told."
"Yes sir."
"You don't need to sir me. We're talking, well I'm talking. You continue to give me this time and I'll take care of you."
"....."
"At some point I'm hoping these young brothers and sisters have a true Ralph Wiley moment and voice what they think when it's not hidden on twitter DM's and Facebook messages." "We can't keep hiding."
"Graham, understand my man, all of them aren't bad. Those who have other income generally speak from the heart with little regard of backlash or having to play Minnie."
"Mr. Wiley, can you see this ever changing? Is it truly possible that we can see a more candid, unabashed, thought sharing black sports journalist in the face of Disney control?"
"If none emerge it will further kill the public image of our black athlete. Most times we're all we have. We've already done damage that will never be repaired."
"I understand...totally."
"Get up and go to the bathroom. I'll be here when you get back so we can discuss the coonish behavior of the negros sitting across from Skip Bayless."
Sitting up I throw my feet over the bed and damn, slippers right there. I heard his voice inside my head saying, "I told you I'd hook you up. I'm in heaven and I think Jesus likes my work!"
In his last piece, Mr. Wiley began with these words: "All a man's got is the integrity of his work." I believe that. If only they believed that in the face of Mickey. If not, continue to "protect that check and your money" & I'll continue to say fuck you and we're both satisfied.
Peace, Grahamzlaw
