In the past few days, you probably noticed two things on my main account.
I've been sparse in the posting.
I've posted links up about 'Suite 302' or pictures of me IN THE BARBERSHOP like I am 19-28 again..

Well, allow me to explain briefly what is going on.
Carolinaware has ALWAYS been 'involved' with Suite 302. That's it. That's all I have to say. Everything else is on a need to know basis. Just know I have a vested interest.*
Now those of you that live OUTSIDE OF THE AREA PROBABLY HAVE A QUESTION.
What is Suite 302?
It is an EXISTING barbershop/hair salon in Newark, Delaware.
Location?
2431 Pulaski Hwy, Newark, DE 19702
The location is NEW but it is an existing and THRIVING business. I've always been 'involved' with the business by the way but now I am just going to be a bit more visible with it. Hence the pictures 'from the barbershop' you keep seeing being posted up. (They aren't going to stop btw...Just an FYI..lol)
Of course, with my own area of expertise being 'social media', I will be handling the bulk of that for the shop. So, yes, you will see more posts about that here. Information about events surrounding the shop, collaborations and SHOWS and such SPONSORED BY THE SHOP and CarolinaWare's Own.

So you noticed I said HAIR SALON huh? I did. Introducing Ms. Toni2Combs and a SAMPLE of her work...
Here is sample of another barber's work in the shop... Black.. Everybody knows a 'Black' right? Well, this is the one that I know...lol (Yes, his nickname is Black...)
For those of you who live in the area (Delaware/Maryland, Pennsylvania,etc..) , come on down! For those of you who don't but find yourself in the Greater Philadelphia/Baltimore area and in need of a haircut or hair salon needs, HIT ME UP. We are located conveniently between those two locations.
I see a lot of texts, captions on Instagram and the like about the location of the shop so I'm going to give some directions ...
Here are the directions to the NEW SHOP FROM THE OLD SHOP. So for those of you who have been there before, you can use THESE DIRECTIONS to get you where you need to be or you can scroll down and use some of the other maps to find your way to the new location if you so desire. We are literally 3 miles down the road.
Directions are available below for the those of you who have NEVER been to the shop and would like to visit. I've provided directions from Philadelphia, Wilmington, Delaware, and Cecil County Maryland. I am going to assume that you can pick up the directions from your location if you are in the somewhere in the middle of the locations that I have chosen.

(Grown Folk's Talk) Perfect Person Part 2...The My Way Or The Highway...thing..
I guess I could let the sign speak for the post and leave it at that. Naw. You know I'm not going to do that.
In case you missed Part 1. It is probably a little longer than this one 'cause I covered a lot of things.
This is EXACTLY what my issue is with the 'perfect person' who insists on having things done 'their way' at all times lest it not be 'right'. There is no leeway. No bending. No giving. No room for growth from that person in regards to the matter at hand either because they won't deviate from their way of doing things. Again, as I stated in the piece, it is COOL if their way works. No issues there. The problem arises is when someone has a BETTER way to do that said thing and it cannot flourish due to the immature and stubborn nature of the 'perfect person'. Or my other favorite scenario, they hear it from one of the few people that they 'deem worthy enough to present ideas to them' and everyone else is a minion in their presence. -_-
So yeah, when I saw the lil saying at the beginning of the post, I smiled a bit 'cause it succinctly nailed the point home. Example? Okay cool..
I'm going take 'cleaning the bathroom' as an example. If you are the person who has to 'hear someone's mouth' about how it 'should be done' then you will KNOW why I picked it.
I think most of us have seen something like this right?
It CLEARLY states that you can use it ANYWHERE, with certain restrictions of course right?
Raise your hand if you know someone that uses this ONLY IN SPECIFIC AREAS? *Puts both hands in the air*
Raise your hand(s) again if you know someone that would SPAZZ OUT if they saw you using this, in say....THE BATHROOM as opposed to the 'designated' area that they would use this in? *raises both hands again*
Now in FAIRNESS to the person who is a stickler for using certain products in certain places, AS LONG AS ALL PRODUCTS ARE AVAILABLE, I DON'T SEE ANYTHING WRONG WITH THE DEMAND.
It is when certain products aren't 'present' and folks are still snapping, as if you aren't using A PRODUCT THAT IS DESIGNATED TO CLEAN MULTIPLE SURFACE AREAS in a fashion that EVEN THE 'SPECIAL CLEANER THE PERFECT PERSON WANTS TO USE' WAS DESIGNED TO DO IT IN. That's WHERE my issue lies. I think it is silly. So using multi-purpose cleaner in the tube is a WORSE ALTERNATIVE than say.....NOT CLEANING THE TUB? 'Cause judging the reaction to one using a 'cleaner' that doesn't say bathroom on it, that seems to be what is being suggested. Oh... okay... No!!! That's pretty fucking dumb.
There are other examples of course.
That's what is like though when THAT HAPPENS. As I am sure some of you can attest to who have experienced THAT EXACT SCENARIO. Now imagine someone being like that about EVERYTHING. Insistent on their way to the point of inconvenience. Insistent on everyone waiting for them to 'get home' so that they can finesse a dinner that THEY AREN'T EVEN GOING TO EAT so that they can feel like they had a hand in it/made sure it went smoothly. Or insisting that certain folks not be asked to lend their expertise because of THEY DON'T DISLIKE THEM even though they DISLIKE WASTING MONEY/TIME/EFFORT even more than the person... Yeah..the list goes on and on...
Yeah..... Not fun. For anyone actually. 'Cause I imagine that if one acted like that all the time, they wouldn't be very happy. No way to live IMO. I digress though...
(Vacation) It is Labor Day Weekend and like most of you...
I am out and about in the World. If you follow me on Instagram or know me, you probably know where I am. A little R&R if you will. So yeah, the post will be scarce this weekend. Obviously, I jumped on to do this but yeah.. Enjoy the weekend and I will probably see y'all on Monday night or so...

You know the drill by now. It is a 'review' per say but I don't call 'em that simply because stating that implies that I 'review' all music. Let me be clear. I'm not about to sit here and talk about a mixtape/album/whatever on the reg that I don't see any redeeming qualities in. I could hit you with a quick 'I don't like it..." for all of that and a simple statement like that does a post not make so......Here we are.. If that 'discredits' my thoughts to you, turn backspace your happy ass on out of this post. Does it mean that everything that I give 'thoughts' on is 'flawless'? Nope. However, I'm not here for that honestly so even if I delve into those, don't look for your usual 'overboard' antics you see in other places...anyhow....
Let's get into this kid from Dover, Delaware's LATEST joint. He has a couple of more tapes out. His music is usually in my blog's music player so you may have heard him here. Matter of fact, he has a song that sampled THE FOREIGN EXCHANGE'S 'Take Off Your Blues" joint that I play PRETTY FREQUENTLY on my Twitter and have featured here.. He was on RapEFX with Sway the other week. You may have seen him at SXSW this year as well. You may have seen the interview I did with him albeit a little short. Shameless plug, it was BEFORE any of those other folks interviewed him btw. @ my interview. Use the search button to find them on here or here's an idea.... USE GOOGLE. It is your friend. Sunset- For those of you unfamiliar with Chris Skillz, this track is the perfect setup. He speaks on his life as it is RIGHT NOW. At present. This joint gives you a PEEK into depression. The kind of depression that A WHOLE LOT OF YOU SPEAK ON but don't want to diagnose it as such. This is a recurring theme in his music. What "I" got out of the track is these are his thoughts before he 'sleeps'... Deep track...
Run With Me- Boy meets girl...REAL LIFE STYLE. None of that 'I macked her...she gave up the panties..I'm the shit' type shit. Real life meet and hook up. This is how most 'folks' meet and how they end up 'apart'. This might be a little too 'grown' for some of you I know ,however, it is EXACTLY how this shit should be broken down to folks in the 18-30ish lane. Real life brings folks together. @ why folks get together. Pain, struggle and the like... It isn't always enough to keep folks together though if they aren't 'helping each other' GET OVER THE PAIN. One thing to deal with pain. A whole other thing to actually help. I don't want to give away too much of the song but there is no 'happy' ending. Lets just say that. My favorite line of this joint answers the 'eternal burning question' many folks have..'Why...'
Favorite line: "Lying to himself...he's still working.. and still loves her..has this feeling like he can't trust her..she's coming home late...felt different when he fucked her..he played cool..'cause he had no real reason not to trust her...besides 'cause she loved him...he loved her..she said that she's stressing..school had her in a funk.."
No History- Another reflective joints. The production on this joint is reminiscent of a certain Detroit rapper's style. Female singing a reflective hook and Chris just opening up about issues that quite frankly, not too many rappers want to talk about. First part of the joint is about a relationship and the betrayal in that. Speaks on sexual abuse as a child in the second part...This one sounds REALLY PERSONAL. Open letter to Mother about leaving him exposed to contact with someone who touched him inappropriately. Third part is about 'cutting'. I'm sure some of you have 'heard' about that but probably have never really heard anybody really speak on it. So listen up. Once you hear the song, you will get the 'no history' title. Another thought provoking song..
Dream Catcher- Let me get this out of the way RIGHT NOW. Yes, folks are talking about 'Dreams' now. They have been doing that though so unless you are 'new' to the World, this isn't some 'piggy back'. Chris is his own artist. Trust me. He RIPS THIS SHIT DOWN and it isn't a 'club song'. No diss to those who do that. (Hell, I love club songs too shit..) Anyway, I had to say that 'cause I know how 'skeptical' some of you are. The beat on this joint GOES. I wonder how long K.O. held onto this beat? 'Cause it sounds like something that HE WOULD GO OVER HIMSELF. @ why I said that.
The title is self explanatory though. It literally means that.

The Monster (Interlude) - Think T.I vs. T.I.P...I won't give it away. Pretty sure, based on some of the things that I've seen some of you say, you can relate to this joint. It is short and sweet.

Suicidal Note ft. K.O (Kyle Owens) - If you have ever had someone you know commit suicide, this joint will touch you. If you have ever thought of it, this will also touch you. The production and the hook are stellar btw but that is probably secondary to the message. He is speaking to those 'truly in pain' outchea. We all say 'That's a shame' when it happens but very few of us use our art to speak to those while they are still here. I think this joint does that. Maybe someone will hear this and know that there are others that feel this way and get help. Hell, it might speak FOR THEM.. Like this particular line in the song does here.

Young Man Pt. 3-ft. Al- Fatir - I would strongly suggest you go back and listen to Chris's other tapes so you can catch up on the this trilogy of songs BUT it isn't 'mandatory'. You will get the gist of the song QUICK. Once again, the young men take the mirror, turn it around and get deep down and honest on this joint. No pretense. Al leads off. I want an duo album with him and Chris. Now. Not now..Right now.
The Moment- "The lights..the city...someone's after me...'till I give no resistance.."
The way the track was done is pretty unique. His lyrics are punched in with an echo effect. Definitely makes you take notice if you are into that type of detail. The lyrics are on good. I will say that the beat is a lil monotone but the message is not lost because of it. The hook, which is what I typed out first, negate that for me, which makes the track more than listenable for me. This is about as close as you are gonna get from me in the way of a 'complaint' as I actually like the hook and the lyrics. I can tell this is one of those songs I won't 'fully get' until I am in one of 'those moods'.
On The Run- This song is unapologetic in its 'real hip hop' stance. I know a lot of you 'hate' that moniker but you can't have it both ways. See, you if you 'don't like that kind of hip hop', you are QUICK to use the moniker so don't get mad when folks use it for positive. *shrugs* You know what he means. He means NO BULLSHIT. Mofos getting up there with no flow. No lyrics..Just talking on the record. Lets not get brand new and shit. Needless to say..this nigga gets on this record and SPITS HIS ASS OFF. He is just saying the same thing you 'piss and moan about' in your Twitter TL. Stop my nig.
Period. I won't even quote lyrics. Just listen to the song. You should recognize the sample at the beginning. It was a nice flip on it too.
Life Goes On ft. Big Pat & Jigz- If he 'lost you' on that last track, you are back on this one. Speaks on all of the folks that he has lost over the years. The beat on this joint is outta here. This is BBQ music mayne. Straight up. Big Pat and Jigz did the track justice as well. Very dope joint.
Live- K.O. on the ivory man.. @ the beginning of this joint. Just sets the mood. Then Chris comes in with that inspirational shit while explaining the struggle it may take to get there. He speaks on why he can talk about what it is he does. His mother's Cancer struggle. The things that motivate him. I know a lot of you feel like YOUR CIRCUMSTANCES are the only ones that could light a fire up under someone to do something. Nope. Everybody has a story B....- S. Carter. This is Chris's. Dope hook..dope production..dope lyrics..
Outro- (Sunrise) - Time to wake up. Last track. I look at this track like that period of time when you are 'trying to wake up', you can hear what's going around you but you aren't quite awake yet. You are half sleep, half dreaming and the two meld. That is what this track reminds me of. He speaks on the things that went on in 'in the night' (the things he touched on in this mixtape) and what it means....as he embarks on 'today's journey'.
Now I gave you what I THOUGHT THE SONGS MEANT to me. You may listen and get something totally different. Once again this is the reason that I am hesitant to call these things 'reviews'. I hate telling folks what I say is the 'gospel'. If you get what I got out of it, cool. If not, no sweat. Hell, Chris might even read this shit and be like 'Naw homie, that's not what I meant by that song there.." as he didn't 'tell me what he meant track by track'. That is the BEAUTY OF MUSIC....well...good music to me anyway. You can take it and meld it into so many other things. I personally have enjoyed this mixtape since its release on Saturday. Played it while working out, out driving or just sitting around the house along side some other new releases (If you follow me on Instagram, you know the ones I'm talking about). This fits RIGHT INTO WHAT I LIKE TO LISTEN TO so if you 'respect' my musical ear, give it a shot. You may actually like it.

" I don't care...It's just one day..." - The correct answer everyone KNOWS they should give AND MEAN for these days. Anyone with any sense anyway.
"I can't believe.." I just expected more....." "I gave hints after I said I didn't care though..." - What almost ALWAYS ENDS UP HAPPENING when things go awry on these days.. Or just some underlying shade for few DAYS...
I'm probably not alone in this one as being SOMETHING THAT GETS ON MY NERVES. Like NO OTHER. It doesn't matter from WHO EITHER. Child, Woman, Man. Mother. SO. My own kids. Friends. I don't discriminate or tolerate this shit. Especially in regards to 'certain days', 'certain events' and the like.
Even more cumbersome is the 'built in the excuse' that I or anybody else should 'already know that the person who is saying 'I don't care about....(insert whatever it is)" REALLY DOESN'T MEAN IT AND I SHOULD GO ABOVE AND BEYOND ANYWAY SO THAT THEY CAN FEEL 'SPECIAL'.
Listen man, we are ADULTS. Adults I say! Times like these are NOT THE OPPORTUNITY to revert back to being a fucking baby who needs to be 'coddled and cajoled' into being 'wanted'. No sir/ma'am. Nobody has time for that. Out here guessing and shit. Then...then.. when folks go through ALL THE TROUBLE TO DO WHAT YOU SAID YOU DIDN'T 'want them to do' and you don't respond with enthusiasm, who is at fault? Yep...you guessed it....

Not that I don't find the fact that you even want it that way ONLY ON THESE PARTICULAR DAYS a little disturbing. I do... just don't play the 'throw the stone/hide the hands' game with it. Just like someone who isn't a ' OVER THE TOP gift giver' shouldn't play that game either. Let it be known where you stand on that issue. I would also like to point out, as I will a few more times in this post, that some of you HAVE IT REALLY GOOD DURING THE COURSE OF THE YEAR SO ALL THESE 'DEMANDS' YOU ARE OUT HERE MAKING ARE PRETTY SILLY.
Some of you DO HAVE SONS/daughters WHO COME TO SEE ABOUT YOU OR CALL YOU EVERY DAY. Make arrangements for you to be taken care of in lieu of their absence. Stay extended times In addition to him taking care of his own HOME in the manner that you raised him to do so in.
Some of you do have boyfriends, co-parents, husbands, ex-husbands that DO MAKE SURE THAT THE KIDS (and you) are taken care of FAR AND AWAY beyond the call of what are wrongfully considered 'womanly duties. Keeping hot meals (cooked from scratch) on tables, doing what was once considered the woman's role of 'showing up at the school for school functions that DO NOT INVOLVE DISCIPLINE OF THE CHILD and the like IN ADDITION TO THE OTHER 'MANLY RESPONSIBILITIES' THAT HE TAKES ON that you REAP THE BENEFITS FROM. Nothing like saying "I'm gonna be home late..." just to let him know you are SAFE AND THAT'S IT knowing that he can and will handle everything else at home 'cause that is WHAT HE ALREADY DOES...
So lets' not get out here and get bitter because Sally down the street got the 'makeup for all the shit I don't do during the year' treatment aight? Sally's son/husband/man PROBABLY HAS A LITTLE MORE TIME ON HIS HANDS..ya underdig?
It is pretty much one of the more selfish stances in the World if you REALLY DON'T MEAN IT WHEN YOU SAY 'I don't care'/you get upset when you see others 'getting stuff' when you know you get it YEAR ROUND. ...Especially if you are going to then turn around and succumb to all the 'pressures and the like' from any pomp and circumstance that is being paraded around you by others. You know the:
'Didn't anyone do XYZ for you?"
'You mean he/she/they didn't take you out/get you to a overpriced dinner/crowded commercialized place/overpriced gift because the stores KNOW THAT YOU ARE 'OBLIGATED TO BUY ON THIS DAY' GIFT?

Who cares if 'such and such' took his girl/baby mother/wife' to WHEREVER HE TOOK HER, TOOK THE KIDS FOR 'ONE DAY', BOUGHT HER A PAIR OF 'WHATEVER HE BOUGHT' OR DID whatever he did WHEN THE OTHER 364 DAYS OF THE YEAR, he doesn't 'help her', doesn't cook, doesn't 'babysit his own kids'*, or pretty much doesn't do make any other sacrifices outchea.
Who cares if on Christmas, there's a new car sitting out front for 'such and such' EVERY YEAR when you by June, cats are getting put out of their HOUSE AGAIN 'cause bills aren't paid?
.....Not me... And neither should you. It is being done for show for the most part and in many cases, it is a 'THE MAKEUP CALL'. Which is why you see so many folks in flux the days after. It almost always turns into 'I knew that 'treatment' wouldn't last....' Sure it is nice to do for folks and go above and beyond at times. However, if your normal level of doing is a two an eight level effort will only magnify the two level effort QUICK FAST AND IN A HURRY. Ya'll don't hear me out here though.. Think about it though.
Look, I'm NOT saying 'don't do anything for anybody' on these 'special days'. Nope. What I am saying is, while the days are special, your EVERY DAY LIFE ACTIONS should be indicative of that. That's what I am saying. What I am saying is if you are one of these 'conflicted folks' who KNOWS WHILE YOU MAY NOT GET THE THINGS FROM whomever is in your Life material wise on these commercial days but who gets ALL THE LOVE, SUPPORT, AND THE LIKE FROM THEM THE REST OF THE YEAR don't be sour. Trust me...Those folks who got something today can't 'use what they got' today to replace the voids that are missing MOST TIMES** These are the same folks who are sitting back the REST OF THE YEAR, wishing that their son/daughter DID CALL THEM EVERYDAY, did STAY OUTTA TROUBLE AND NOT CAUSE THEM STRESS, FINANCIAL HARDSHIPS AND EMOTIONAL DISTRESS WITH THEIR BULLSHIT, did come see their kids, did TAKE CARE OF THEIR KIDS, did CHIP AND HELP/TAKE THE FUCK OVER with their kids and all of the other things that they applaud 'you for having in your Life'. So Happy Mother's Day to everyone out there. Show your mother or the mothers in your lives some love. Try and remember that the OTHER DAYS OF THE YEAR THOUGH and any Mothers out there who didn't get 'the treatment' but gets 'THE TREATMENT' all the rest of the days of the year? Rest easy. I mean, if you don't appreciate the VERY FEW MEN OUT HERE ACTING LIKE FATHERS the other 364....There's a problem. Sorry. Ditto if you have told everyone around you that 'All you need is a beer and some quiet time'..you can't get mad if all you get is...well....SOME BEER AND SOME QUIET TIME.
